Super Happy Fun Time cl350 - Seat Build!

I'll be updating soon on the process of the engine build.

Got all my parts together. The spec sheet is:

'69 "high rev" cam (I actually ended up with two if someone is interested in the second one)
Rocky Cycle ART 67mm overbore pistons
Tsubaki cam chain
KA performance cam chain slipper
Mikuni VM32 (I want to swap these out for VM30's, does anyone want to trade?)
Enlarged intake ports and port clean up
Scambler pipes with vw muffler tips and probably a DIY internal baffle.

I'm a bit weary about the engine assembly, this will be my first time putting one back together. This will also be my first time doing any kind of port work. Does anyone have any write ups on how to install the KA performance slipper? It looks pretty straight forward, but I know sometimes the slipper galleys need to be enlarged for the slipper to fit properly, how do I know if it's fitting correctly?

I know alot of people don't recommend porting yourself if you have no experience, but because of my budget, I cant afford for it to be flow benched or to have someone do it for me. I'm not looking to do anything too extreme, just match the intake openings to the manifolds. Anyone have good resources I should read up on before I go wrecking shit? I've got a backup valve train incase i do though haha.

Awesome! Congratulations man, I look forward to hearing how it feels on the road! Did you have any issues installing the KA slipper? I may have to ask you for some help once I get to that point in my assembly. Throw up a video if you get the chance!

The only small issue is that the rivets on the slipper rub against the inside of the jugs. You just need to grind out a little material until it moves freely. Took me five minutes.

I'm going to port a head myself in the future. I have a spare motor and a spare head so I figure I have room to F something up! Can't be too awful. I had a few beers with an old machine shop owner a few years back and he said they used to do race heads by feel way back in the day. He said if you get any sort of calipers you will just F it up. He said just to take your time and spend equal time on each side. "pay close attention and you'll be fine" But then again he had been doing this for decades so I'm sure it will take be a ton of time...

Good luck!

I'll be watching for sure!
