Tall riders unite!

I used to put my feet down on my sport bikes. One day someone in a car flew up beside me motioning for me to pull over. When I did they started yelling "your boots are smoking, your boots are smoking!!!!!"

I just said, "yea...so?" ;D

That's funny!

Roller blades would work to stop the smokin' boots. It'd be a bitch if ya got your feet crossed up.

6'2" and ~190pound - i came to accept i won't ever be comfortable on motorcycles a long time ago.
came close on a zx12 though. never got any photos on any bike :(

You guys make me feel short and skinny ;D
I'm "just" 6'1" and 185.
I remember the first time I tried to "fold up" on a CBR600RR yeesh ::)

Ive sat on almost every different model of Harley on the show room floor. They all feel too small.

If I ever get a new bike, It will probably be a nice tall 650 Enduro. http://www.kawasaki.ca/model/klr650:1217

I am 6'1", 220lbs, my xs650 is tiny for me, but my dad's BMW R1200 is pretty good, not my style bike, but it is comfy.

Hearing you on the BMW's, pablohoney! Dad offered me a ride on his R1100S a while ago and it felt pretty good - definitely my kinda bike in regards to its torque and the general feel of it.

Apparently their S1000RR is supposed to be the same - catering to taller riders.

The Tall Persons Club GB & Ireland motorcycle reviews.

While were at it, Am I the only one who thinks that 90% of toilets are too small? I cant do anything about it now but when I get my own house, I am getting one of those nice and tall handy caped toilets.

The same goes for couches and most furniture, waay too close to the ground.

I don't mind the seat being close to the ground, but the water is too close to the seat.....that shits COLD ; ) LOL

i find everything is mounted too low. i'm getting a bit of a hunch just from washing my hands frequently.
i'm not obscenely tall either so i don't know how you guys do it without going postal.
australian toilets have their water level much lower, the teabagging doesn't occur as much :)

Since I started remodeling my house I started fitting everythng to fit me and my kids. Raised the counters and such. My daughter is 5'11" at 15 and my son is 5'6" at 10.

Older houses were designed to fit the average height of the time, 5'8" IIRC. People have been getting taller on average the last three generations. When I remodel our bathrooms I'm raising the counters 6".
"Teabagging" that's a term to remember ;D

The house my parents had when I moved out was about 100 years old. It was redone by the gentelman who owned it previous to better fit his 5'3" wife. I could not put my hands flat on the counter without hunching over let alone washing dishes in the sink!

Sorry to bump such an old thread but it's very applicable to me and my current situation.
I've fallen in love with the cafe racer style but I do want to be relatively comfortable since I plan to ride my bike 108 miles one way to work 2 days a week.
I'm 6'3" and 240 lbs. Will a CB 750 work for me? I've never ridden one. Always had a cruiser which fit's me okay. Would a CB 900 work better? Or maybe a GS 1000?
I've even considered making a cafe out of a 70's Ironhead sportster.

Thanks!
Don

Definitely check out the Suzuki's. They're very accommodating for taller people, loved my GSX1100. Loads more power than the CB750, too.

I have a guy who wants to do a trade deal.
My 2000 Vulcan Drifter 800 for his 1979 GS1000. He said his 6'7" brother can ride it in relative comfort. So surely I could. Plus it already has clubman bars on it!

Both bikes are in good shape....should I be asking for some money with that deal?

6'5'' 200lbs...i have a cj360...works well for me. I think people are just jealous of our ability to manhandle the bikes they will never be able to... yay for being tall!

True. I have yet to be on a bike that I thought was too big.

I guess I just don't want to look like a monkey humping a football going down the road.
