Ok so I've barely had the damn thing a week, but I'd really like to look at the muffler and removing the cat. Is it feasable to simply grind off the muffler after th 10cm-ish ppart where the cat is, bash the cat out and then attach a shiny new muffler without welding etc? Or is there more to it?
you can do it that way but make sure the muffler you get fits the header diameter and is long enough to go past the foot peg to keep up the right pressure etc in the exhaust.
or you can remove the CAT and then have the muffler welded back on for a few bucks at a repair or metalwork shop. the third option is to try to track down someone to make a stainless system, as the stock one rusts fairly easily, its a good idea to repaint the whole stock exhaust with good heat proof paint before the rust starts.
