Nice thread, I think alot of people start off in old VW's because they're so easy to work on.

Here's my 74 bug that was my project car while I was in the military.

This was what it looked like when I got it.

And some relatively recent pictures. I'm always tweaking something on it, I can't stand stock vehicles.

Here's a video of the motor on the dyno.

I've had a couple watercooled Vw's too.

94 Golf 2.0, was my daily driver for 6 years and I put 125,000 miles on it. Was a great car but I got in a small wreck and it was just getting old and worn out so I recently replaced it was 96 2.0 Jetta.

Jetta, not really liking this as much as I liked the Golf. It doesn't have as much power and gets worse gas mileage. I think most of that is because it's an OBDII car. I swapped alot of the parts from the Golf into the Jetta so it's kind of living on.

This is an awesome thread! It's wonderful that you guys share so many pictures! :) I love these cars, unfortunately I don't have a VW although they are one of my favorites when it comes to cars. I like the fact that they are really reliable and I like their logo, it looks really nice. I hope I can share something soon too!

I unfortunately do not have anything to share here but I would love to. I am looking for a late 70's Vanagon Westfalia edition. If you know of a decent one for sale let me know.

Finally found a decent priced bus/rustbucket and picked it up last night.

Haha thanks. I may just sell it and buy a nicer one. This one is way more of a project than I can currently afford but the price was right...

guess, i'll add my cage to the mix.... 2004 1.8T GTi, lifted on bilstein HD's and VR6 springs, 1" H/R spacers, strengthened subframe and braced chassis, skid plate, strut braces, and some pipeworks inside also... 3" turboback exhaust, no cat/muffler... spark arrestor screen, high flow intake ( aka a teeshirt ziptied over the intake inlet ) Hella500 driving/aux lights.... race in SCCA rallycross M2 class.

most VW forums flame me for this car..... sorry you've never heard of RallyCross, that's your loss not mine! haha Bike guys usually get it though.... i prefer function to form and i prefer gravel to manicured blacktop... i dont slow down for speedbumps and i speed up for railroad tracks... Judge me.

Let me know what you think. Unless you don't like it, in which case lie and tell me you like it. Thanks.

Neato, a VW page haha. I just recently sold my old Beetle so I could start on bikes again. I didn't expect to see mothgils and JSJamboree in this thread 8) Currently I only have a Tiguan and a really terrible looking kit car buggy, both of which aren't worth looking at. Here's my most recent 62...
