This seller is out of their mind...

The best way for that guy to get what that bike is worth is to ask twice what it's worth and negotiate from there. Who know's, some Hipster Douche bag might think he's getting a good deal if he beats the guy down to $10K.

It's fairly easy to see, but it does depend on the age of the bike you are talking about. I have a 1965 Honda S65, my first bike and I still got it. Original paper works show $312.00 OTD. So with your train of though it should be less than that even in very good condition....say, what...$200?? Or are you saying that with inflation that $312, which would be $2316.50 today, it should be less that that??

One thing you got to remember is that logic does not apply. Some bikes for whatever reason are highly sought after, like a sandcast CB750 and people will pay big bucks for them. What I love are the ads that say Rare vintage motorcycle, $4000....then you click on it and you see a stock well used but all there CB350!!! Yeah, rare indeed, Honda only imported around 450,000 of them.

I'd like to know where the extra 200k CB 350's are. It was the best selling bike in the world in 1968, but only sold slightly over 250k over the 5 years it was imported.

How has nobody commented on the nasty skanks posing with the bike. I think the first one was a guy, jesus, where is this guy finding these hookers.

Charlie,
Notice how I said "far from new condition". I'm talking about rusted up pieces of crap that don't run. Use logic here, would it be worth more than when new? I understand that for every ugly chic there is a dude who thinks that she's beautiful. I know that there are a few cases where a bike is truly valuable like the sandcast but you can't apply that logic to everything ever made.
Example: 198* CM400 - $2600 on the local craigslist. Come on dude.

Well say what you mean, Clem. Far from new can mean a complete bike that's all there, rideable, but in rough shape. If you meant a piece of rusted crap that doesn't even run, say so. And your right, a lot of folks think just because something is old, means its worth big bucks. Rusted out clap-trap out or a <1k miles prisitine CM400 ain't going to worth big bucks, regardless of condition or what the seller thinks.

They are in a bank in the middle of Beverly Hills in somebody else's name.

Sorry, simply a typo.

"What something is worth" is totally subjective. It's up to the individual buyer to establish what it's worth... to him (or her)!

You can't dictate to me what an item is worth. That's ultimately my decision. It's worth what I'm happy to pay. Period.

You're trying to establish some "generally accepted value" of an item. Again, possible, but with so many variables, a difficult proposition.

The blonde (2nd girl) isn't that bad, at least she has nice legs.. And isn't rubbing her crotch on the leather seat. She has class.

You're right, I need to be very specific when I'm lounging at da club. Like drewski said, its all about our personal preferences.
