Today I learned...

TIL that necessity truly is the mother of invention.

My need is what to do with two extra XJ750 lumps I just inherited (thanks Shanedalion!). The inventions are too numerous to mention.

After seeing you double up on your stators, I can only image what it would be like if you linked these 2 baby's together!

TIL that the doors on an '03 Yukon will not lock while the doors are open. However, if you try locking the doors while they're open, and then close the doors... it will automatically lock itself 3 seconds after the door is closed. Trapping the key to the Yukon, the key to my stepside, and my cellphone inside!

Similarly, I re-learned that AAA is well worth the annual fee ;)

After reading this, TIL that I'm glad I got a Ford truck with the keypad on the door so I don't have to call AAA to get my keys out. EVER. ;D

TIL the joy of finding a problem, researching the problem, and fixing the problem, all without an experienced wrencher physically present. I also learned that DTT is a complete life saver!

Feels good, huh? Well done, Mr. Matt :)

Today I learned that my bikes are all worth at least $5,000 ea. because I can add my inflated personal labor cost to the value ! ( I need to call my insurance agent and up the agreed value policies for them ;) )

Today I also learned that I can use "exaggerated guesses" as to what my horsepower is vs. actually making dyno runs.
( Best $$ saving tip all week ! ::) )

Awesome !

DBYIL that it is possible for a spark-plug to break so that the threads and electrode are left in the head, while the part that a wrench fits on and the insulator blow-out and go their separate ways.
The insulator was still connected to the plug wire. ::)
Of course it is a hemi-style head, so the threads are at the bottom of a 1" dia. X 4" long hole. :p

Today I learned that Dime City Cycles doesn't print product reviews from customers that have even a hint of negativity. I purchased a left hand all function controller and had the "parking" "headlight" selector switch snap off after just a week. The switch connector is thin, poorly designed, blah blah blah.

DCC has had this review for well over a month and they decided not to post it on their web.

If you offer customers the option to review a product in an honest way, have the balls to print the reviews, otherwise it's a joke. It's their website they can do what they want. But I'll make future purchases elsewhere.

They do have good customer service. Call them and they may replace it for you...maybe you just had a bad one?

On the call, ask about the review, they just may be slow getting to them.....

I kind of get the impression that they just don't put reviews up at all - I don't think I've seen one that wasn't a couple of years old.

Gotta agree here. The customer service at DCC is top notch. It sucks getting a defective part but sometimes they slip by QA. Get in touch with them and I am sure they will make it right.

If you don;t want a replacement, I am sure they will give a refund......

Either way should make you satisfied....

TIL that bikes run much better when there is gas in the tank and pushing a bike home on a warm day in full gear is horrible. ::)

Wish you'd have just asked, man, we all could have told you that. Do't be afraid to ask questions. ;)

TIL that even with a nylon wheel on a corded hi-speed drill, stripping paint from a gas tank takes for flippin' ever.

However, TIAL that a free giant-ass stainless bbq and propane tank can be a beautiful thing, once cleaned and reassembled. Beer, steak and wings, my favoritest things! The gf's gonna do the happy dance fer sure ;D

Oh yeah, and the outta gas, full gear push, Rich Ard's reply thing? lmao
Sorry for your pain, Dude.
