V Star 650

I'm going to leave it bare. One problem with the trailing link front suspension is that if I fix the fender to the axle to keep a close fit it will rock back and forth with the links almost a 45 degree swing! I perhaps could have let a fender pivot on the axle and stabilized with a link to the fork but I didn't plan the bushings required on the axle to do that. So I will go without. And I like the sweep in the spokes, I don't want to hide that.
A front fender would make front visually heavier and messed up the look ;)
Thar suspension IMO should stay as visible as possible :)

Getting a start on the largest piece I've ever attempted. Quickly realized wheeling was going to take forever and switch to mallet and shot bag. Planned panel for only stretching. Also learned placing the paper template on the convex side it is much easier to read what needs stretching

ncie progress. looks like you are close to the limit on sheet size for that English wheel!

A little more progress on the left side of the fender. Happy to see the fit with the seat. I will be reworking the foam and vinyl on the seat to extend over the tab that holds the seat down.

wow that is a super long bead. are you doing the planishing by hand? getting up in the fender seems like it would be a nightmare

Yes, by hand. This seam was okay to get at, it's the one next to it that I'm worried about:confused:.

As long as this is firmly welded together in this area, it should add an interesting dimension to the exhaust note.

Moved back the other side to finalize. Tipped in the bottom edge and tweaked it into shape. Almost ready to weld to the mounting plate but I may wait until the other side is closed in.
