very well done!!..
What kind of paint did you use?

elmers glue and glitter, of course ;) ;)

that tank is just fucking pretty! looks 70s correct too ;)

PPG Vibrance gold metal flake and straight black base for the stripe and emblem . I borrowed my friends flake gun to do it, you spray the clear and then shoot the flake onto the wet clear. There is flake everywhere!

Where did you score those vintage wings decals? im looking for something similar for my tank, although I'd like to have a circle around mine as well.

nice man! onces you shoot flake out of the gun they are perm flake guns! i love to shoot PPG best paint IMO, so easy to work with... awesome job man! looks killer now burry that sucker in clear!

only if its a siphon feed....gravity feed you can break them down nice to get all the flake out. :p

I love it! 10 coats of clear and it'll be done. What size flake did you use?

I'm a flake whore. I've got two pounds of flake on the way for my project, well, 8oz is for a different project, but none the less.

JRK and Forcfan - you might have missed it, but he went with the dry flake method vs. The wet flake method you guys are talking about. So there's not too much worry on getting his gun clear (should be easy peasy) and the only thing it does is shoot out dry flake.

Now order some gold flake vinyl to make your seat top out of, black vinyl for the rest. My CL has quilted gold metalflake vinyl kneepad covers by a previous owner, I should do my seat to match...

Looks good. I prefer to shoot a nice wet color base, dry shake the flake on and then clear the piss out of it. Less cleanup, less flake wasted as it goes only where you want it too. If you add some 60s style ground glass to your final clear you will have dudes lined up begging for you do spray their tins... Nice under the table pocket money my friend, cash only, couple hundred bones per item.
