picked up another 70 cb 350 pulled off the alternator cover to check timing because she is really off and as i was letting the oil drain i hear a thud in the catch pan and i find this jewl!
looks like a gear from the starter motor. Pull the electric starter motor and check if there's two gears running off the central main drive. If not, that's your mystery gear.

I know @bobdot wasnt right but that was a pretty good guess also... just off of sight... even though his gear was clean as a whistle lol.... gotta love help from the forum..
