I want to thank you for the how to videos. On so many levels there is something that can be learned by everyone.
Your dedication, ingenuity and creativity are off the scale. I watched an old timer use a razor the way you do and I always thought it was genius or insanity. Not sure which. Keep up the great work!
I especially love how you remembered to run power to the points. So many guys forget that important step and then they're forced to use the stock condensor.

Made some more progress yesterday and I finally have the complete wiring harness installed back on the café racer. I plugged the new wires into the battery and tested all of the connections and lights. Everything looks good !
I also changed the oil and filter so when that missing carb part arrives, I will be ready to add some gas to the tank and take her for a test ride !
I think you found the wrong Andy Kaufman. The guy he was talking about used to build choppers back in the 50s and 60s, then moved on to cafe racers in the 70s when the growth of Japanese bike brands enabled the cafe bike scene to come into existence.
He's not very well-known but was a huge influence behind the scenes. You won't find any info on him on the Internet. He actually worked out the back of a taxi shop in NYC most of his career; if you go to Brooklyn and ask around, someone might be able to clue you in by word-of-mouth.
itchy ! i am pretty sure the green tester is only for latent radio freakwenseas, but whatever
on my BSA the oil is pretty much factory set to auto-matikally drain at a variable rate
as a matter of fact i even use some small diapers under the cranckase in order to keep the rear tire from getting too shiny, these are awesome mods that you could also perfom, keep up the good work, itch
