Who dat in tha dirty? (our roll call)

Name: Jared Wyatt
Location: Odenville, AL.
Occupation: Firefighter/Paramedic
Age:37
Bikes: Currently a 1990 Suzuki 750 Katana (can-o-tuna), 1994 gs500, 1974 cb200 (current project), and a 1975 gt750 water buffalo. I was raised in Gulf Shores and moved to B'ham are in my mid teens (23 years ago) I've been a bikenut/gearhead as long as I can remember. Started riding on the street at age 14 on a yamaha 185 exciter. Been turning wrenches and for a good while and a pretty good bit of metal fab experience. Like most everyone else in the dirty I love a good beer and a good whiskey. I've got a great wife who puts up with my craziness and likes to ride to. The cb 200 mentioned above is my first true cafe build. I picked it up at auction during barbers vintage festival last year for 30 bucks and my wife immediately claimed it as hers. Luckily I have one of my best friends ever Kiley O. to help me along on this build. I'll be putting up pics soon.

Hey Jared, Good to see you on the boards and I can't wait to see pics of the GT750, I remember it was a very nice frame last time I saw it! Hahahaha! Really glad to have you here man!

Hey, I remember that Buffalo frame :)
Welcome to the forums Jared ;)

Gary, I meant why not use the GSXR600 swingarm? We're planning a monoshock conversion for the '75, but adding mounts to accomodate twin shocks to the aluminum swingarm can't be that difficult. Or, if you want to stick with the OEM style, find a good welder who can widen and brace the stocker.

If you decide to weld up one that looks more vintage style, I suggest not using the stock one at all really and just build a boxed swingarm that mimics a dresda.

yeah that sounds like a good idea.....i can just see hoe close the gixxer swing arm will fit and if its to much just have my father in law make a new swing arm....he is a welder at mid ship marine

Looks like I missed this section, might as well give er a go

Bikes: The gsv1k super pos project, and a cb 350 that im gonna chop into pieces.
A bit about myself, Ive been working on anything with wheels since I was very young. It came out of necessity because growing up with nothing, you have to take nothing and make something, or your never gonna have anything! I cut my teeth in the 4x4 world, and it seems I've grown to despise it because of all the jack asses and people wanting something for nothing. So here I am in the 2 wheeled world, and so far I'm liking it a whole lot better.

Been here a while, so I better introduce myself.

Bikes: I picked up my first bike, 1970 cb450k3, back in August. I got it running and proceeded to strip it all the way down the next day. Current have the motor torn down for a hone and rering. I have been polishing aluminum bits for way too long now. Hopefully I will start reassembly soon. The weather has been so nice lately that I have been fiending to ride. So, last weekend I picked up my second bike, another 1970 cb450k3. Complete bike that runs. It needs a little TLC and some new shoes and I should have it tearing through the ATL in a week or too. There are only ~800 serial numbers between my two bikes.

Hey Everyone,

I'm new to DTT and pretty new to bikes; I just got my first bike about 9 months ago. This place is amazing; there are lots of really awesome projects that people are working on.

Name: Chris Spiker
Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Occupation: career student, currently at UAB
Age: 27
Bike: My first and only bike right now is a 1974 CB360. I don't know what I'm going to do with it, but right now getting it running and commuting with it is the goal.
General: I was born and raised in the Ham, play soccer, and enjoy running. I also play in a couple bands around town.

Well, I've been on the DTT Triangle facebook page for a while now and been going to the meetups so I figure it's time to post something on the main board.

I'm in Raleigh, NC for the time being.
I work in the security industry for the time being.
I ride cafed out 2004 Thruxton built by Pete from Farley and Ace.

Wish I could post some pictures but I'm killing a little time at work right now and don't have any with me.

I will be moving to Rome Ga later this summer. Anyone from that area?

Hate to tell you this but Rome is the arm pit of the state. Coldest in the winter and hottest in the summer. Beautiful country all around though.

I grew up in Ga. but, southeast of Atlanta. I made a trip to Rome recently to check it out, i've seen worse places. Really pretty riding country and right in the foothills of the mountains. There any DTT meetups going on in that area?
