I have to admit I like Jr's theme, if only it wasn't a 'theme bike'. A lot of his newer stuff would be awesome on a bike you could actually ride.

JR's... Some beach bicycle I thought had ain inline 4 like an Indian till I looked closer. Fail for being fake.
Jesse... Super-motard thing?
Monkey... Looks like some kind of chopper from years ago
Sr... The girder looks out of place and I dont like the oil cooler. Did you guys look at the key? Its like a cheap bicycle lock key!

Yeah... For a bike that complicated, SR should have had a digital proximity key.

JJ's bike had the most pure craftsmanship for sure. I'd ride the hell out of that.

JR's bike was a PJD long and lean bike. Like all the rest, of his bike, just themed out.

GMG, I like how they started a chopped build like how most choppers are built, with a donor bike. I just wish there was a bit more fabrication.

all of them pretty much suck in my opinion.
The gas monkey guys have never impressed me at all.
All their cars are pieced together and crap IMO
They buy okay cars (and bikes apparently) throw a few grand at it, and call it custom. I like the "stuff I can do in my garage" stuff, but honestly on tv I don't want to watch a bunch of mediocre mechanics do simple work.
They don't fab, they don't paint, they don't so upholstery, they just do pimp my ride shit.

Anyway Jesse James is a hell of a builder period.

i thought all of the bikes were pretty worthless. I like Jr's grill, but he ruined it with all of the flat black nonsense. I appreciate that Grass Monkey stuck to their roots, flipping a vintage vehicle. I hate choppers and I hate harleys, i wish they had done something more interesting with it.

I want lossa engineering to show up all these bitches.

I am tired of the crap on TV I have to watch inorder to catch a glimpse of a motorcycle. All the shows suck cameldick. I wish they ran silent security videos from the service area of the local cycle shop, we'd see more building than the crap reality shows give us today.

You know I've been thinking about that a lot lately too. I can't believe how much the industry revolves around drawing people in to sell a t-shirt or a helmet. It always seems to be that the businesses and television networks cater basically to couch ninjas. There are some guys out there making and selling purpose built parts, and then there are guys who are posing. But in the TV world, as far a s motorcycles go, there are no "builders shows for builders"! I know that we are out here, and there are a few rags like Classic Motorcycle Mechanics that are designed for us, but I'll be damned if you can find a show about bikes that doesn't revolve around drama and over-hyped motorcycles. I want to see the guys build something and then take it to a track and brutalize it. I want to see how they cut up part of an old bicycle to make a fender brace. I want to see when they pull rat turds out of their exhaust pipe and beat the shit out of a PB blaster soaked piston to break it free. I work on my bikes a lot, as all of you guys do too. Where's the footage of that showing up on network TV? Hell honestly, I don't even care about it being about bikes. If some dudes were really getting dirty and teaching you how to do something on TV, it could be tractors/lawnmowers/washing machines and I would be more interested in watching that than some limp dick father/son bickering and back stroking.

Cqyqte and Kantcoy are absolutely correct. They all suck big time. All of it is for and about the revenue the ads bring in. Reno shows are no better, putting in a new electric panel, rewire house in an hour, I don't think so....and it's not that easy either. Here in the GWN, one of the best shows is "How It's Made" Simple overview of common every day things. Enjoy it a lot.

Really?

They kinda fall into the same bunch.
Maybe a CRTV build off.....now that would be funny

The Romans understood it. If you want to connect with the mob, you dumb it down, and flash it up. Couldn't hurt to splash a little blood on it.

Communicating is like pouring a fixed amount of water in a dish. When you increase the size of the dish, the number of people you're trying to please, you decrease the depth of the content. It becomes more generic, and that has to be compensated for with smoke and mirrors. The opposite is one on one. You want quality content, go hang out at the local garage. Find a mentor. You want flash, fighting, and drama, you can get that without leaving the couch.

Yes these show are off the wall but it's entertainment . Thats all it is . Also it opens up the world of motorcycles and fabricating to young kids that might get into this hobby we all participate in .

This is somewhat off topic but relates to this in a way. A guy I know has been trying to float a new program on motorcycles. It's not completely to my liking but if it was picked up and aired I'd watch. Here's the address to check it out as I said Alan Masters is a friend, http://twowheelclassics.com/Images/Pages/Videos.html

Enjoy 8)

thanks for posting the site Cqyqte. Luckett is a bit of a motorcycle legend here in New Scotland. I saw him ride his Norton at AMS track years ago. I don't think he rides/ races anymore. Had a bad accident I been told. Too bad. However, he has a great name as a businessman and a fair and just employer. That's a good thing. Love the Dream video as well. I had a '67 305 until I sold it a few years back for a 67 CB 160. Thanks again for the site. Hope you friend does well.

I have to say that American chopper got me excited about building bikes several years ago. Back when they actually built bikes that is... Now after doing it myself for about 5 years I have realized how lame some of there stuff is...i hate the word theme...but still have an appreciation for some of the fab work they used to do. I owe them a debt for getting me interested in a hobby and lifestyle I truly enjoy now!

That being said I voted for gas monkey, Aaron seems legit and built something most of us would build in our garage if we had a choice of the 4...

Jesse just annoys me...amazing skills...but I'm tired of hearing his crap about how he is so much better than everyone in the world and does it ALL himself....truth is he had help just like all of them.

Wow, 10 people voted for Jr and Sr. That's 10 people who find that their access codes to DTT won't be working!! Hahaha

+1 ;D now if you could rig it for them to spontaneously combust when the hit the login button we could chalk it up to culling the herd!!!!! ::)

I missed the build program (if there was one) and only caught the tail end of the winner announcement. No denying the skill involved but you'd have to put a gun to my head if asked to pick one to be seen on.
