Winter project CB550

15? Isnt stock 22mm? When measuring position the float so that the float arm barely touches thw tip of the float valve. Measure the distance from the flange to the top of the float w the float level gauge or a home made one or ruler

So thinking about my carbs after a week of frustration and it dawned on me that my tank is from a cb500t twin and the petcock is from the cb500t which has two separate carbs and that's why my petcock has two outlets. Not thinking about it I ran two separate hoses from the two outlets into the two inlets on my carbs. Well... One is an inlet and the other is a breather. Unplugged the breather tube from the tank and no more leaks! Dumb dumb dumb...

Can you show more detail on how you mounted your rear sets? Im in the market to buy some for my 550F and couldnt figure out how you mounted yours from your pics.. Also who did you/your wife buy them from? They look great!

Luckily I'm working on my bike at the moment. I made these brackets at work.

Finally got to really ride today. Carbs need a little more work. I think I have a vacuum leak someplace because i get idle rpm creep. The exhaust needs a muffler. Sounds good at idke but after two hrs of riding my ears have had enough. Ton of fun to ride. Very light and nimble. Doesn't take much effort to pilot.

Can you further explain this. My CB500 has a petcock with outlets and I thought that one connect between 1 and 2 carbs and the other connect between 3 and 4 carbs. Awesome build btw. I just ordered the same seat and you totally gave me inspiration for future fabrications...

Also, what rear shows did you go with and what is the length? Stock ones were 12.5" I think, right? Great looking stance. How does it handle now?

They are 14.5" shocks. It's a stiff ride but handles well. The bike is so light and nimble. However, I think it needs a dampener.
