I had made the caliper bracket for my original plan of using a 17" x 2.5" rim converted from an XS1100 rear wheel (quite a bit wider in the hub area) so you'll notice some spacers between the caliper and bracket to position things for the stock front rim. Again, because of the narrower hub I had to make a spacer to move the rotor out. The bracket still needs to be finished up & polished and the gold & blue removed from caliper and rotor. I might go with a Ducati Monster mc like I have on the cafe bike. Mikes XS also has some nice tracker style mc's.chrisf said:That's awesome! Do you have any close-up pics? I think I'm going to have a go at the R6/R6 combo, but honestly, it looks to me exactly like your setup. Are you running the stock MC?

I was happy with the job he did on my cafe seat so I gave him this one. It was my girlfriend that suggested white for the seat

The guy who did the seat took care of the foam - he used 2" of extra high density and 2" of high density squished to around 2" total thickness. Ah the oven.... always make sure you use the proper data sheet when mixing the catalyst and paint :-\ I should have the bike on the road this month ;Dintrudin said:Hey Dave ,that seat looks great, wot kinda foam you use?? .....I guess the oven worked ;D do you hope to get on the road this year???
The front hooks under a mounting plate on the frame and the four posts are modified hitch pins welded to the pan which fit into four mounting gromets on the frame. The rear hitch pins get clips to hold the seat down. All mounting points have rubber pads between the pan and frame. I made it easy to remove and install so I could secure a couple of helmets by their straps when parked.pawn said:love the seat! How does it mount exactly though? Kotter pins?
Thanks...... Unfortunately like the board says, "Blood, sweat, tears..." I had to strip all of my freshly painted parts :'( :'( :'( I was out on my paint to hardener ratio and things did not reach the required hardness after 6 days Too bad... the finish was near flawless It took the stripper nearly twice as long this time to remove the coating I had applied. He charged me the same price - I guess he felt bad for me.Druro said:Is it done yet?
Nice work Dave.

I have a dxf of the flat layout for my seat pan that I can forward to you.cretin75xs said:I have a 81 XS650 and I'm in need of a seat. I purchased a tail section but need to cut the frame. I'm not totally sold on cutting the frame, and your brat style seat interests me. Do you have a template for that seat pan? I like that brat look and it might be what I'm looking for. Your help would be appreciated.
