Especially after building an 850 last year with the Mikuni's which required almost zero turning work at all after the fact.

Just sayin

I found a guy close with a rack of 750 carbs he said I could borrow to test out. Really just interested to see what happens if I just slap them on before splurging for a new rack. However that set Datadavid looks like a pretty good deal, so I'll keep an eye on them.

There are a handful of us triple guys around...
I've got three... and I might beat you to those carbs.
Haha noo, you might just think so but..treitz said:Haha... are you being paid by Triumph or something?

Spent a year fiddling on the mik's on the 750, they were really hard to dial in, and the synch would only last like 250km tops, then the synch screws would rattle loose from the fine triple buzz even if i loctited them.. so even if i could make them run perfect they were a pita to lice with (unless you just love carb syncing..)
A newer set of carbs is just easier to live with and luckily triumph produced a good many engines with correct intake spacing not very long ago!
I wouldnt worry too much unless it happens again.treitz said:It definitely wasn't smoking. So nothing to be overly concerned about until I get it running tuned properly?
Hey! I linked you two good sets already!treitz said:Alright. I'll keep a closer eye on it next spring when I start tuning again.
Oh and hey Dave, if you see any of those Triumph carbs pop-up on eBay let me know. I know you're always keeping an eye out for that kinda thing
Yea, though if i would buy these in sweden it would be helluva lot more expensive, plus there would have to be some kind of linkage made with proper adjustments for syncing the throttles i guess?treitz said:I missed out on the auction set, and the other set was buy it now for over $300. If I'm going to spend that kinda money, don't you think I'd be better off with 3 brand new VM34's or VM32's?
