Everything looks awesome! The oil filter cover is really trick and your fiberglass work looks very nice! With a 350 and a 750 in the garage togethor I bet it is a happy place!

It has been a long time since I posted any progress. Life has just been extremely busy for me lately. I have, however been working on my bike a little bit here and there. I have been pouring all of my mechanical budget into my truck lately and the bike progress has been suffering as a result. Lately I've been working more though, and I've got enough progress to post a proper update.
All of the fabrication is done on the seat now. I'm in the bondo stage now, and almost done with that. I've done more work since the pics were taken.

Next I made a pan for the padding and upholstery. I laid wood strips to staple the cover to and the upright back part of the pan is fiberglass wrapped around a piece of plywood.

I also drilled a spare brake drum cover. I'm not done with rolling the edges of some of the holes yet. My plan is to paint the drum the appliance epoxy black and put some stainless screen behind the bigger holes.
Also some of the holes might end up getting enlarged slightly or maybe a few more holes. I'm not sure yet.

Hopefully the next post will have my seat in primer and a seat cover under way. Also I might get my carbs started sometime soon.

Man, awesome idea on inserting the wood in the pan. That's a great way to attach the pad. Lovin it!

The wood is how F/G boats are supported. Its a good idea for bikes too.

So I've been away for a while. I've just been very busy with coaching soccer, volunteering to run the concession stand at our local high school's home games, helping my wife grow her business, etc. etc. But I've been working on the bike a little bit along. The tail section has been completed and has one coat of paint on it. Unfortunately that coat wasn't satisfactory so I'll spray another sometime this week. The tank has had a leak fixed (I hope), bodywork done, and first coat of paint. The tank came out nicely. Up next is the second part of my two tone paint job. From the body lines down will be another color, sort of. Also removed my rear wheel to get the new tire put on. I cleaned and prepped it and then coated it in the appliance epoxy black. I also polished the wheel spacer. Up next is the new front tire and front end redo. I'm liking where the bike is going, and hopefully this will be my favorite incarnation.
Here's the seat after my fubar first coat. Notice the brown leather, I cut it off of a couch someone was trashing and I'm having it sewn into a seat cover.

Going to try to finish the paint on the tail and tank tonight. I've got to coach my son's soccer team tonight too, though. So it may wait until tomorrow.

I had an unexpected reaction between the paints. It was rustoleum roll-on bedliner over appliance epoxy. The bedliner had something in it that dissolved some of my paint and didn't cover well at all. So I'm going to sand it all back down and start over. Luckily it was just the tail, not the tank. Trying to think of a new way to do this. Thinking about ditching the bedliner for a standard paint, maybe flat black, maybe the burnt orange that she's wearing in my avatar pic, either way still keeping the gloss black top.
