Put your dash cluster inbetween that tank with some leather crud. I think youll have to streamline your pipes too now with that look. They are too straight for that sleek look. Maybe its time to ditch the scramblers? Some nice squarish header would really make this bike a killer. You have the skills might as well.

The only thing I'm running is a speedo and it might be going in between the two tanks mounted in a sleeve. I'm not 100% yet. Initially I was going to mount it on the slider near the axle. I'm considering a single fill tube that connects each tank. If I go that route the speedo could mount under it. Again I'm not 100%. To be honest I still really like the pipes.

And I just noticed the rear fender (my phone cuts the right side of pics off). My wife will be relieved to hear your butt wont be so close to the tire.

Two things- cowl and bring the seat fender down to cover the open space. If you're talking salt flats, you're talking streamlined

Well I was planning on this being something I'd unveil after it was done but since its been brought up...Plans are in the works to build my own exhaust. That's all you get for now though. Have to stay tuned.

Kev I appreciate the effort but I really have a certain look in mind. If the bike were going after records on the salt I'd consider a cowl/fairing. However its not. Its merely inspired by and not a racer or a replica. I've worked very hard to give it a certain look. Less is better in my eyes. Besides I love how the front end looks the way it is. Pretty much the same goes for the seat. Less is better. I really love the flow of the lines on the frame. To cover it completely up would be almost a shame. Its just not the look I'm going for.

Man there's really nothing I can say that hasn't been said before. It's lookin amazing, definitely apparent how much work went into it. And I freakin loooove those bars.

Appreciate the props homie. Lots of work left to do though. Making the time to do it is probably the hardest part.

Yeah man, that and money haha. Considering I just blew $425 yesterday on a Lincoln 185. Was a steal but that was everything I had saved to finish this build. Oh well.... If anyone is looking for a fantastic deal on a welder brand new still in the box they guy said he has a couple more. I figure he'd charge actual shipping charges. Let me know and I'll put you in touch with him.
Anyhow,
Started on the seat. Plan is to make a skeleton and lay up some fiberglass.

Removed the seat and cut off the mounts

I want the frame to be pretty strong so I grabbed some flat stock made a cut and formed the first bends

Tacked those in place

For the nose of the seat I tacked a piece of flat to a solid bar, heated it (as much as my little plumbing torch would lol) and rolled it. Once close I finished it off with a hammer

bent a rear hoop for around the tire and welded it on

welded the nose and finished up a couple of the other welds

I had to get out of the apartment for a while today, cabin fever was setting in. As well, I can't really see the pics from this thread on my phone so I toddled my butt up to the office to use their pc.

Love the concept pics, how cool! I'm glad the bars worked out well, they look a treat. I dig the seat wprk too...you are one creative dude!
