CThor's 1972 CB450 (Getting Close!)

Re: CThor's 1972 CB450

I did check the kick starter and I'm ok there. How far down did you drill the hole on the shifter shaft? I'm going to have a friend heat it up and hopefully straighten it. Otherwise he can cut off the bent part and weld on the straight part. It has a twist in it right after where the its welded on. :-\

i drilled it just above where it clamps on, the flat piece of metal there towards the very bottom :)

i will post a pict shortly, got to go take it first :)

if you flip the arm like i did than you will be running gp shift, first is up and the rest are down, aka backward shift, traditional is first is down the rest are up

Hey Cthor! Looking good man! By the way, if you don't need the stock rear brake pedal anymore would you mind if I can take it off your hands? I can paypal you for it.

I have a lot of updating to do on my thread as well! Good progress man!

There was a seller getting rid of all their HID kits on ebay... I got lucky and placed the opening bid for $15 and no one else bid on it!! It also had free shipping. They must have thought it would get bid up higher. There's no way they made any money off of that, the priority mail shipping had to have cost most of the $15

Re: CThor's 1972 CB450

It has finally warmed up enough here to do a little painting, so I just got that done. I'll be working on getting my shifter side rearset hooked up after lunch. Just waiting for my friend to weld something for me. Here is a few pics of painting.

Re: CThor's 1972 CB450

if you are using epoxy paint you better cover the rest of that stuff up man! that stuff is nuts on overspray and hardens like a rock... also it has to be over 50* for it to lay flat... if not epoxy... ignore what i just wrote

Re: CThor's 1972 CB450

It is the epoxy, I covered up everthing important before painting. It is close 50 now and is suppose to get up to 60 today. I had the parts inside and warmed up and the can in hot water. Then took them out and shot them. You think that will be ok?

Re: CThor's 1972 CB450

should be... if not after an hour you will start to see it wrinkle up and start to look like crap... if you do not see that you are golden!

Re: CThor's 1972 CB450

Yo CThor, I haven't gotten a response from you about the rear brake pedal. If you don't need it, I'd like to buy it from you. Mine looks bent. If not, I'll just find a way to bend it back.

Also that light looks dope. Which site is it from?

Re: CThor's 1972 CB450

I'm guessing that isn't DOT approved. Do they have vehicle inspections up there in SD? That's pretty cool. I know how Joe likes his LEDs.

I love them too. I will probably end up making my own lights on my next build. I'm just getting my feet wet with Nixon. I think I've shown this before, but this is my night flyer.
