DO THE TON Mama Tried IV Oct 2013 - Barber Vintage Festival

I'll be there again, third year running. Sold my Jeep JK a week ago so I'll have my late father's F150 to haul my BMW R60/5.
My cafe is still unfinished with our big Mods & Rockers event combined with a home Reno project ... It continues to sit waiting. Ugh, there are so many great cafe, brat and bobbers there it pains me to ride a slower vintage bike. But I do what I can for now.
Looking forward to seeing your sorry asses in person again. I'll bring some northern beer and Cincinnati food. And of course my camera for the third annual group photo. (Minus the real Tim... Sadly).
I hope to do more riding this year on some of the back roads. Last years DTT ride on Saturday with Carpy and Mark W. from Ace cafe was fun. I'll not be sweep again and sit around waiting for dude from Loaded Gun to call for a truck (locked up calipers) ... I want to ride those Bama back roads.

X, we will make sure you get a ride.

Tim (the real one), I just saw your post about not making it this year. That really sucks and is great at the same time. I hope everything goes smoothly and your dream becomes reality. Looks like a nice place. We will certainly miss you there. Luckily you made it down for the Thaw.

Alright!!! I booked a ticket! Thanks to DTT for the assistance with finding some lodging!

Arriving BHM on Thurs at 22:57

Departing BHM on Sun at 19:05

If anyone's heading to/from the airport around that time, I'm game to split transpo costs or contribute in any way to those giving a lift. Google gives the distance to the park as 14 miles, so a cab shouldn't be too bad, right?

(Aside from the humiliation and spiritual pollution...)

AgentX I will have a rental car and I fly in before you and my flight leaves about the same time as yours so I can help ya out man if ya need.

Nah, you didn't miss anything Kevin, I believe that they have copied the itinerary from last year on that site.
ok thanks Kiley

So, any updates on the gathering spot for DTT near the corner? We can certainly volunteer some time to help mind the store...

Is anyone planning on participating in the parade lap on Saturday, or are most people planning on heading out to find a place to eat like last year? I'm debating whether or not to buy the pass with my ticket. I haven't done the parade lap before, is it worth it?

Parade lap is a blast. Well worth the $20 or whatever they charge. The one time I did it, we got to a decent speed. Lots of Youtube videos from people who have done it. This is mine from 2010. When my speedo is at 12 o'clock, I'm doing 80mph.

But the commute to the park at 7:30AM is a lot more fun :)

The parade lap was fun. Don't be at the front of the line though or you will be stuck behind the officer pacing it.

Mixed results for me. First year I did it and had a blast, got going pretty fast. Last year not so much. Don't have the money this year so I'm not gonna do it.

Ok y'all!! I'm a tryin to gitterdun! Here's lightning bolt and my white lightning still ,I broke out for a run !!! Hope my bike is rideable by oct 11?!?? If yer lookin for some gut warming jet fuel from a green glass bottle,..holler at the fat guy on a cb 750 sohc cafe, who answers to the name of "jay"

did the parade laps in 2011, I think we got 3, hit speeds over 90mph, missed 2012, got the pass for Friday and Saturday, I'll roll out towards the end of the line so I can lag back and get a big run. Its well worth the extra money.
