Restomodding a 74 CL360

There is that. My wife had back surgery before I met her. Apparently, they did a pretty bad job since she can't lift anything :(

Best Physical Therapy is working.....Hope the surgery turns out better than expected.....Need you up and around...for purely selfish reasons...

Get Better FAST!!

Already planning couple of fork braces. Even day after surgery there is a definite improvement. Will be at least 3~4 weeks before I can do any machining though

I'm shipping off the carbs to PJ this weekend. There's not much left to do on the bike except make the seat prettier and clean up some other stuff.

The 360, Magna, and Norton are in a storage locker now. I'm going to try to get the CX500 over there tonight. I hate moving.

Got the carbs back this week (thanks PJ!) and I'm de-rusting the inside of the tank again. I'm going to take the tank, carbs, and a full gas can to the storage locker and get this thing on the road today.

Aaaaaand fail. The carbs are working when they get gas. Unfortunately, something is stuck in the petcock so only one of the spigots is flowing fuel. By the time I figured this out, a big thunder storm decided to roll through. So close.

Have you completely dismantled fuel tap?
It's normal to have one side flow then the other but you could have rust blocking or restricting flow
Quick check, turn off fuel, remove fuel line from carb, blow into line and while you have 'pressure' turn on fuel. You should hear the air bubbling into tank
Try reserve as well, you may find it's blocked

Both work on reserve for a bit, then the blocked one stops again. If I can get to it this week, I'm going to pull it apart and see what the hang up is. Really annoying, my Honda shop didn't have any more clear fuel lines so i couldn't initially tell that there was no gas in one of the lines.

It took 30+ minutes but I drained the tank and got the petcock off. Burned too much time getting stuff from the old place and my daughter needed a ride to a friend's house, so it's currently sitting in a box waiting for me. The long screen that feeds the reserve side has a tear in it so it's not doing its job. I ordered a new petcock from Honda CB360, it should be here later this week, assuming he ships it today or tomorrow, otherwise next week.

Looks like Monday for the petcock.

It will be worth the wait. I wasted a bunch of time F-ing around w my old one, before getting a new one.

Stopped by the wife's house, and lo and behold, there's the petcock in the mail box. Anyway, I hooked it up to the tank but still no juice through the second spigot. I took it home and ran some water through it and water is going through both holes. ??? What magic is this? I took the tank home, too. I filled it up with water and opened up the petcock, water is coming out of both spigots. I'm going to drop my daughter off at a friend's house, and try this again. So frustrating.

Yesterday was the day of going to fix something and forgetting stuff. I went to the wife's house to get the CX500, as it wasn't running. I brought the wrench set, but not the screwdrivers, so I headed home to get more kit. The screwdrivers with the JIS bits came through for me, but the right side control wasn't the problem. I didn't bring the metric hex wrenches, so I just said screw it and took the petcock to the CL360. With the 3/16" fuel lines, it still flowed through only one spigot, but when I took the stubby piece of 1/4" fuel line and attached it, both spigots were flowing. Sadly, I had left the 1/4" lines at home. I did manage to get the steering damper off of the Norton, but the bottom bolt requires a wrench that was bigger than any I had on hand. All of my adjustable wrenches are too small. Hitting Harbor Freight on the way home for a bigger wrench.

Bigger fuel lines installed, still not working right. Gas is flowing to both carbs. Pulling the plugs and checking electricals tonight.
