just curious, what software did you use for the chamber sizing? Also, did you by pre-formed cones (what source) or did you cut and roll your own? I have built a couple of pipes, but nothing that complex.

The pipes were designed on solidworks. I went through a guy from the Kawasaki Triple Board (Walms) to have them cut up and ready for me to weld.
I have done the "cut my own" thing, and let me tell you it was much better having them pre-cut perfectly for me!
 
Does anyone have some cool tricks for holding up these pipes? I still have to weld on some spring taps at the collars, but don't know how to hold them up in the rear. My last option is just to weld on some bracket that will connect to the rear set mount, but would really like to do something else. Any idears? I kind of like the idea of a modern pipe clamp holding them... I don't know...
 
you will need to attach a bracket on the pipe, either at the chamber to the chassis or right before the silencer. Do NOT attach at the silencer. make the bracket at LEAST 2" out of angle or L bended sheet and slot the holes. damhik lol.

Can you please forward me the contact info for the pre-fab guy? I need to do a pipe for my p200 again I think... Appreciate it.
 
Made a little progress, took some time to do some body work. When I originally made the seat, I made it too short to be comfortable with this tank so I had to add an extension piece, then layed a little bondo on it and sanded it down. I then shot some primer on the tank and seats as i still don't really know which I like best....any 2 cents?

Im glad I took the time to do some body work. I was not feelingas eager to work on it as of late, but a same color paint has helped pull it together for me and get me reinterested.

I love this bike. there I said it again. I like the round tail better. I like the tz tail if it didn't have the duck tail on it. Is that one pipe just hangin? if not then you are getting close on ground clearance. I think a seat made out of the rear of a tank would look pretty good on there too. A little more boxy but still round to match the tank. Either way you go you cant lose.
 
Ya, the pipe in that pick is just haning, they tuck up much closer to the belly...my temporary duct tape strap decided to come lose.
As for the seat, I think I am going for the round one, although I think I am going to cut off the end of it (where it looks sharp) and make it look more like a on h1r seat

i def like the round one if you plan on trimming it. i like everything youve done. whered you get your headlight? i want one for my 175, but i think it is out of my price range.
 
Yeah thats the ticket. I thought that pipe was just hangin had to ask. Hows school going? I hope its not keeping you away from your bikes too much.
 
I got the headlight from ebay, found a bucket and lamp seperately so it was about half the price of what they are going for now...pretty damn expensive

Schools good thompson, thanks for asking...it is definitely slowing my build down...which my not be a bad thing, gives me a chance to think about it more and not rush it

I say run the round tail, it fits the build better, even though I am a fan of the tz tail, it just does not fit on this one!

I agree...the tz tail would be sweet without that big duck tail...btw, now that you're a master at molding, how about making a custom seat that mirrors the tank (i.e. indentation on the side of the tank). Otherwise, looks SICK!

And...don't tell me that you gave up the SSRs for Mud-Ts on the Jeep?!?! I think you're getting soft! J/K.

Squirley, you mean something like this. H1r replica seat I plan on running on my H1.
