    Beachcomber's Tales from the day

BC, your mention of the Ace being a bit of a dump back in the day reminds me of some time I spent in that area back in 73. I was renting a closet that passed as a bedroom from an elderly woman and her son in Willisden Green. The Lady suffered from Parkinsons, my first time seeing anyone with...

    Beachcomber's Tales from the day

Started reading through this thread and haven't laughed so much , ok, giggled, in a long time. Beachcomber and Hoof, your stories are great and brings back memories for me back in the day too. BC, winkle pickers, I haven't heard that used in 45 years or so, for those that don't know pointed...

Not a cafe, but I think it's gorgeous!

I reckon that's a late 60's T20. Could be wrong, but it sure looks a lot like one a mate of mine had way back then. Around town he was way quicker than me on my Tiger 110, but I would catch up when speed started to matter. It would smoke like hell too, so it was important stay in front. Cool...

    MUST SEE!!!!

Yeah, John Britten was an exceptional man wasn't he. I find it unbelievable that he did it all in his garage at home, after reading how to do those things. Like Bert Munroe before him, he really had the Kiwi attitude and had fun doing it. My Mom sent me a picture from a NZ newspaper years ago...

Just For Fun --- How OLD Are You?

I'm 57. Started riding in '68. First bike was a '57 Tiger 110, with all the nice goodies from Paul Dunstall. Wish I still had it. John.

Cleaning the rust from that old tank

Been using the Zep cleaner for a while now. When ever I do a project bike I buy a jug or two, as well as some WD40. I have a small container with a basket that goes inside, throw all the nuts and bolts, small items that look like crap into the basket and let sit over night. Next day pull them...

Tim's XS project - 750cc rephased ported head titanium valve hot cam craziness

Re: My XS650 project - update July 9 2008 - More wiring - getting closer... Tim, you have done a great job on this project, been nice to follow along as you have posted on this thread. I'm doing something similar to you, but mine has been slow, a little here and a little there. Now it is time...

The new locO Bike - July 2008

Nice find there Noel. Please do try to keep it as close to stock as you can, they are not as easy to come by as they used to be. I had one way back when we could still get them new, a 68 lightning. It was a good bike, but if memory serves me well, it was slower and didn't handle as well as my...

    What was your first bike?

My first bike, back in 68, was a 57 tiger 110, with all kinds of Paul Dunstall goodies on it. I loved that bike, did everything right and looked really cool. Wish I had a picture of it now. John.

    oil coolers

Some bikes came with them, some not. What bike are you thinking of, maybe you will be able to install one without too much trouble. Yes, I run one on my bke, not that it needs it, doesn't get hot enough here, but still looks cool. John.
