I'd say 15k seems reasonable, although having said that i am in Australia where the market is completely different. You could recoup it pretty quick provided a few were easy enough to get roadworthy. At 35k he might as well expect to win the lottery without buying a ticket.

Haha yeah i actually learnt this last night while fitting the replacement clutch basket, Man, didn't I feel like a dick that i didn't know that, cheers for your help though mate, appreciate it. On the plus side though ive replaced the clutch plates and springs, cleaned out a lot of the gunk...

The stickiness of 1st was what led me to believe that it was a clutch issue, ill try to swap out the whole clutch assembly tomorrow and see what comes of that.

Not at the moment, the clutch side cover is off. However previously, yes, the engine was running whilst i was trying to select gears, and would run fine in Neutral and would move into 1st although it was a bit sticky, just wouldn't push up into 2nd. The previous engine selected gears fine...
