If you're into old cycles and live in the Philadelphia area check out Chin on the Tank and come out for a Thursday ride. We meet up at the BP gas station at 25th and Poplar Street, do a ride, and then grab some drinks somewhere in the city. Always a...
We did the ride last night but it was real mellow since a few minutes in it started misting enough to wet the roads. We ended at the EL bar on Front st which was a good time. Things will really kick off with the ride once it's more consistent weather. Hope to see you out sometime.
Hey Pat
My buddies and I do chinonthetank and organize the weekly ride. There's usually anywhere from 10 to 20 guys and sometimes ladies that come out on Thursday. Definitely make it out sometime.
We haven't done the Sunday breakfast in awhile so I guess we need to take that off the site...
hey danfr
Are you coming out here to apprentice with Adam?
I might be able to help you out with a couch. My buddies and I run chinonthetank.com if you wanna see some more of the local scene.
Hey
This Friday, Aug 6th, we're hosting a ride in bike show at Liberty Vintage shop in Fishtown. It'd be awesome if some of you guys that have made it out for the Thursday ride could make an appearance and hangout. Some of you have probably had your bike worked on at Liberty so you know where...
The Green Line Cafe in West Philadelphia is giving a 30% discount for riding your motorcycle every Sunday between 10am and 11am. The cafe is on the corner of Clark Park and has plenty of parking infront of the cafe so come out and get some breakfast!
My buddy Mick is the cook at Green Line...
Well, the bike is finished now with the exception of the seat pad. I kinda lacked with taking pictures near the end of the build but here she is finished. I've been riding her for a good 2 months now and she's running strong.
Hey joevirus
The fork swap is legit, but if all you're looking for an improvement in braking I suggest just going upgrading to a stainless steel brake line. I ditched the oem switch and replaced it with a banjo bolt switch and braided line and its a HUGE improvement.
awesome, we'll be doing the ride every Thursday as long as the weather is good. There's about 15 of us with cafe bikes and usually on average 10 of us that come out for the ride. It's a good time and we're always pumped to see new bikes.
Hey Guys
Good to see the Philly support on here.
My buddy and I have been organizing a weekly ride every Thursday if anyone wants to come out for it. We meet up at the BP gas station at 25th and Poplar St around 8pm for a ride and then end at the North Star bar at 27th and Poplar.
Interesting build. I like your take on using the back half of a tank for the seat cowl. I did the same but a little bit different design... always good to see different approaches to the same thing. I'll be following your build.
I got the seat just about finished up. It still needs some final touches with the file and then it'll be ready for paint!
I cut an 1 3/4" section out of the back side of the 500t tank and then welded it back up.
Fitting.
Welding the cowl to the seat pan and fitting some little patches...
Thanks Vonvinzer. I have this diagram but understanding it enough to manipulated is what I'm struggling with.
However, wiring is coming along. I had a slow day in the office so I used MS Paint to rework the diagram (very high tech I know). I think I've finalized on this wiring design but if...
