I've been researching putting pods on my 750. Apparently the '79 -'82 750's have CV carbs which require a vacuum. Is it too simple too just mount the carbs from an earlier model? Say '77-'78 cb750 carbs on my '79? From what I've read the only issue lies within the carbs themselves. The...
While I was working on my bike last night I thought of something. What if some "more experienced" member's of the forum offered to take some of us "lesser experienced" folk under their wings for a sort of mentorship. That way we wouldn't have to feel stupid about posting simple basic...
Gribbs,
I see what you're saying from the pic you posted. I'm not sure if they're going to work at all, but atleast hopefully some part of that setup can be used for fabbing something up. I sure as shit hope someone on here starts fabbing up rearsets at a DTT discount.
Thanks JRK,
Those fender flares are basically knock off bushwhackers. I found a company on ebay (TAG) that basically reproduces BW's for half the price. $200 for them.
I'm not sure Gribbs,
From everything I've read, I'm pretty much only compatible with '79-'82 without some work. I'm not too worried about the tank, I'm just going to bang the shit out of it until I get it to look like I want, same with the rear end. The rearsets are the only thing that I have...
Re: what about TRUCKS / JEEPS... Here's my '95 YJ.
Just put the safari rack on today. Used the winter to fix everything I broke wheeling in the summer. Basically rewelded the whole drivers side frame rail. All good now though.
Jeep is going to have to take a rest now though... onto my new...
yeah it's in pretty good shape, I don't think she's gonna like what I have to do to her at first. I hope I can get some rearset assistance. I'm pretty mechanically inclined, but it kin of stops at metal fabrication. Plenty of body work experience. I hope someone on here starts selling fabbed...
I was urgently wondering whether or not rearsets from an 81 cb750 super sport would be an almost direct fit on my '79 cg750k. I assume it would be pretty damn close, but not sure. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
*Not so urgent anymore since i already picked up the parts on ebay...
One of the only good things about Maine, is the fact that all bikes must be yearly inspected... so you aren't really going in blind on a purchase. I've been researching rearsets. They seem to be the most pricey upgrade from the start. I have body work experience, so the tank and tail should...
Just picked up a '79 750k... with a little research I've realized it might have been better to go with a little older 750, by about a year. There doesn't seem to be much prefabbed '79 cafe parts so I'd better get to work on my own. Any advice? I know there aren't a lot of DOHC guys out there...
