I have an oil leak coming from my bike's right side engine cap. Have to replace the o-ring. Does anybody know the size of those o-rings/if they are round or flat o-rings? Thanks
Just back my bike back from a mechanic who opened the motor and replaced a headgasket. Rode it home, totally cool 90mph+ np.
I was on a casual ride and I took it on a calm dirt rode. The fastest I went was prlly 30mph. About 15-20 minutes in, I hear this weird sound coming from my engine. It...
Finally got a chance to check out all the recommendations, much appreciated..
I started at the carbs,
The 2nd and 3rd carbs' airscrews were all the way turned in, had to fix that.
There was also a lot of gunk in the carbs that i cleaned out.
Probably most important was that many of the air...
The bike starts with the closed choked, but won't hold an idle.
So the choke is closed, I start her up,
and then to keep the idle i have to open the choke a little bit.
It does run with a fully open choke though,
it's just so damn loud and high RPMing.
Alpha I tried spraying it with starter fluid, but no go.
caferacr it's not charged 100%, its prlly at 40% but I'll plug it in when I can. Yeah the knocking or smoke wasnt there, it wouldn't even run. Is combustion in the cylinders a solely battery issue?
Woke up this morning and some...
Put fresh gas in it, emptied the carbs so that the new gas replaced the old.
Fixed the broken o-ring from the first carb.
Put my airpods back on bike.
Checked my sparkplugs and they seem fine. No oil.
Here's a video of the current state of my bike, just recorded a few minutes ago...
After I got it all synced up I was going to put my air filter pods back on, I thought they just cut emissions from the choke valve, but i mean if they make a difference on how the bike runs then I'll put them back on during the process.
It sounds like shit on the left side. Like hard banging I...
I checked the compression a couple weeks ago, before I replaced the first carb, and it was fine.
I have airpods, but they aren't on the bike currently, just cause ther a bitch to take on and off. I didnt know they could make a difference?
The first carb needs a O-ring replacement most likely...
If your willin to read 8), let me tell the whole story...
When I first bought this 74' Honda cb550 the first carb body was bad and didn't run. I replaced it. On the 4th carb, the float needle isn't on the right height, but I semi-bent the float to the right level. After, I tried to run the...
Bought a new carb body and the screw deteriorated when I was trying to rebuild the carb. Its weak enough where i think i can use a drill bit to break it out but I dont want to mess anything up. Any suggestions?
something like this you think?

I've had neighbors give me shit about how loud my bike is, and I want to quiet my empty megaphone mufflers. The attention from the cops isn't that fun also. Has anyone modded their bike, or created a baffle and willing to give me some insight? I know a stock exhaust would be quieter...just costs...
I have a broken carburetor body and wanted to buy a new carb for my 1974 honda cb 550k. Should i strictly be looking for an original carb from 1974 cb550k or is there some overlap like.. can i used a honda cb550k carb from 75'? or 76'? does a supersport cb550F carb overlap, etc?
