I sold some parts from my 900 SS. The swingarm was paid on 14 June, so it's over the 60 day wait period. I get a message today that there's a crack in the swingarm. I know for a fact that there wasn't a crack when I sent it out. I am windering if I am not getting shook down, as this guy demanded...
I ganked this off of a Ducati Monster Forum- Use short strip of yellow stick-on LED's and stick them around your fork legs and wire them into your turn signals. I like it; anyway.
Pics to come...
I know- nakeds are BOUGHT and streetfighters are BUILT; however, they offer the same wind protection: NONE!!! It can be painful riding an unfaired bike- admit it; unless you are only riding under 50 mph, that is...
Let me hear your stories...
bunnyman is looking for a cheap HID kit. I thought I had read on this forum somehwere that a fellow forum member was going to help hook us up cheap.
I am going to ride this Monster at night A LOT and would fee LOTS better about better lighting.
Thanks!!!!
No pics, yet. I just got her home today. Man, is she a schweeeeeeeeet ride!!!!
Ex-wife-to-be scratched her keys into the tank. Ouch!!!!!!
First thing is to install the Thruxton flyscreen. Second is to get that freakin' tank looking better. Third thing is the Ass-ectomy!!! Just look at the ass...
I kept reading on the 'net that I can find a pair of serviceable, used rearsets for my KZ650 for about $40 on ebay. I know- they would be FZR or Gixxer rearsets. All I can find is $50 for right or left side or pairs for MUCH higher than $40. I am willing to spend a C-note; however, I would...
I am the freakin' KING of weird questions. Here's mine: has anyone painted a spoked rim with the spokes and tyre on? I figured that masking the spokes wouldn't be nearly as hard as disassembling and rebuilding the whole spoked works. I was thinking of using a red Scotchbrite pad to rough up the...
I had read some blog where the dude eliminated the battery from his old XS650. I am just curious. Yes, I am going to go kick-only on this bike and get rid of the electric start, as the e-start was a source of huge headaches, anyway...
Any insight on this topic would be hugely helpful.
Let's say we have a '94 Duc 900ss (not Giada) with a bum electrical system, etc. worth more apart than together. Let's say we also have a '77 KZ650. How hard would it be to graft the suspension (front and rear) onto the Kawa? The Kawa needs new headers, but she's clean (mostly) otherwise.
Discuss.
Here's the bike, I named her after Giada DE Laurentis, my FAVOURITE chick on the Food Channel:
Yes, I get all jiggly in the knees when I look at this bike just like when I see Giada on the TV!!!!!
I haven't decided what to do headlight and fairing-wise. There is quite a bit of electrical...
I got curious as if I would have found a Duc a few years younger, I could have installed electronic shifting in a seemingly easy manner. There is one BIG however here- http://www.pingelonline.com/eshifter_universal.htm seems universal.
I am intrigued, but I would rather not be a guinea pig (as...
It has already been stripped naked- there are no fairings (except for the single front fairing), and the trellis frame makes NO ROOM FOR NO STINKIN' FAIRINGS!!!!!
Seriously- while this bike is SEXY in it's fairings- there's no way it needs to be in over-expensive plastics that disguise it's...
I decided that the BikeIt Falcon headlamp/fairing is too much for a 1977 bike. I also decided that in it's stock form, it's almost too much for ANY bike. The ore I looked at it, the less it was my cup o' tea.
I was going to take it down to the bare elements and fit it on a Bultaco Metralla...
My idiot lights don't work on my KZ650. No neutral indicator, no brights indicator, no turn signal indicator, nothing like that. I am thinking of shaving the whole works, and maybe even eventually getting a nifty Acewell digital unit or keeping the tack and getting a bicycle computer.
Please...
I know- if I would have ordered a fibreglass chin scoop, I wouldn't have to worry about this; but I also didn't want to wait for three weeks for Airtech to build me a chin spoiler/scoop. The Maier chin scoop also had the mounting hardware included.
I am not cheaping out on this step; but I also...
I ask 'cos I was able to get a matching front end for my Kawasaki KZ650 for nearly nothing. I know- many of you would say I am silly; but I am thinking that probably (if this is even possible) just a super-rebuild of the stock parts is almost as good as finding modern replacements; heck- would...
I ditched the Honda CM250C for a little Kawa muscle... this thing is begging for some streetfighter attitude. Does anyone know what front ends I coud swap int this bad boy? I have read a bit about modern suspension components being grafted into older Kawa's with minimal fuss- that sounds like...
