Sorry for the super late response to your reply to a post I made back in October (included below for reference) with work and having a baby I lost track of this project almost immediately after I tried to start. I just cleaned the carb and jets again very well and replaced the spark plug. The...
I have a 1975 Kawasaki G3SSE that I was able to get running last summer, but I have not ridden it much. The oil pump is disabled and the previous owner said he would mix with a 40:1 ratio. Yesterday I took the bike out and needed to add more fuel so after spending some time reading online I...
I have a 1975 Kawasaki G3SS that will not start. It gets a good spark and has a new plug, I have cleaned the carb, and cleaned out the air filter. When I spray starter fluid directly into the air intake I can sometimes get the bike to start for 5-10 seconds. This morning it even ran for...
I bought this CB550 four years ago when I was in school with dreams of making a cafe racer. I did not have the money to do much to it so I stripped it down to the frame to repaint and cut off the "extra" parts. Over the years I have rebuilt the motor and bought bits and pieces here and there...
Haha awesome. I was really getting worried because I couldn't remember taking them out or figure out where I had put them and I couldn't find new ones anywhere. Thanks for the help.
It says in the manual to put it on the bearings in the cylinder head but I can't find any more information about them anywhere.

That would be really great though if there aren't actually any bearings.
Over the past 6 months I have been reassembling my motor and I just got it all back together tonight. As I was finishing up I noticed in my box these two things and I don't know if they came off of my engine somewhere or if they came in one of the boxes of random parts I have acquired. Anyone...

I found this bike on craigslist and I'm curious what an internal throttle is and why doesn't it have a front brake?
So I spent some of today working on it my bike and when squeezing the clutch or pulling up on the lever it connects to on the engine it still does not engage the clutch. The lady at my local parts store said I just need to readjust it so I went through all the steps in the Clymer manual again...
So if I replace my bango bolt with this does this make it so I don't even need my bleeder valve or does this just replace the bleeder?

As I understand it from the welding engineer I work with (I have never welded once in my life) you get the splatters because the settings on the machine are wrong. I would guess that the steel is fine but maybe if you spent some time watching online tutorials or something? Sorry I couldn't...
The whole cable is about 2 inches longer but that wouldnt matter right? it moves the lever at the back of the engine up and down. I didnt try it to see if it disengages the motor but I will later tonight.
I got a new motion pro clutch cable and lever and installed then today but now when I pull the lever it just stays and you have to physically push it forward. Any idea what I need to do? I was doing that in a hurry before work and I'm at work now so I haven't had time to really research the...
It works finally. The little block is my kill switch. The reason it wouldnt work before was because I didn't have everything grounded well. Hopefully I'll have some time here soon to redraw my wiring diagram if that will help anyone else out.
