Yeah, I'm taking a break. I'll read some stuff on the forum and get back into it when I can. It's obviously something minor, but I'm not seeing it. Thanks for the input.
I'm thinking the timing has to be wrong if nothing else. The new Rick's stator doesn't have a timing mark, so I'm kind of just eyeballing it in the same area as the stock stator had a timing mark. I might just replace the points wires with new ones, attempt to retime it, and re-gap the points...
Right now I have the coils hooked up and the new stator in, but I can't get it to fire up. I checked and I have a huge spark at the plugs. Is there something I am missing here? I'm thinking the timing might be off, but all I did was swap the stator, so I don't see how it is off. I even attempted...
Any idea why he stopped selling them? I had purchased one a while back, but was refunded. I just shot an email out today. I'd really like to try this system.
Is bore-tech not selling them or are they just sold out? I think at $369 I'd just stay with points. It's hard to justify that price when it's over a 3rd of what I paid for my bike! haha I'll let you know if I hear anything.
Has anyone gotten an update on the Pamco electronic ignitions? I'm also looking at some inline resistors for the coils I have mounted now from Hondaman. I think in the long run for now I might need to add the resistors and run points.
Correction to my previous post, I forgot that dyna doesn't make an electronic ignition for the twins. Any other ideas out there? Am I better off to get some 5 ohm coils or do you think the 3 ohm will work without burning through too many sets of points?
I was out of the country and I purchased a new Pamco Ignition for my CB350 as well as 3 Ohm Dyna coils. Apparently there was an issue with the Pamco Ignition, so my order was cancelled and it is not currently being sold.
I'm looking at the Dyna "S" electronic ignition. So my question is, is it...
I'm sure it's because it's registered in Vermont and they will basically take a napkin with crayon on it for registration purposes lol. Someone probably said it was a 1971 years ago.
By the way I was just joking because it seems like with all the awesome things you did on your build, the one thing you didn't get a picture of is the one everyone has been asking about!
So it matches up with your chart. I'm pretty sure my bike is registered as a 1971, but that might be wrong lol. My ignition key is also the one that opens the seat, so it has to be a K4 meaning it's not possible to be a 1971.
After tons of research I think this is correct, Let me know if it needs to be corrected:
68-69 CB350K0 was released on 2/29/68 and was made up to the K1 release REAR HINGE SEAT
69 CB350K1 was released on 05/01/69 and was made up to the K2 release also REAR HINGE SEAT
1970 CB350K2 was release...
Thanks I was just trying to confirm that I wasn't loosing my mind! I contacted the seller and the issue is being corrected. I posted that seat up for sale in classifieds. It was fairly pricey, but it's an amazing looking seat, just for a 1970 and I need 1971.
Talked to the seller, he is super cool. I'm going to pay for another one, have it sent, then figure out the refund stuff later. I told him if he can sell it I will ship it to whoever from my father's place in Georgia to save the $89 overseas shipping rates.
I also posted the seat up in the...
