    New in NJ...

NJ here as well. But I am in the middle of the state. Welcome to the club! I have machine tools (mill, lathe etc...) and plan to do some parts for cafes... Need any custom bits? I could always use a guinea pig :) Eric

A sign of things that have progressed :) CX500 cafe

Re: A sign of things to come :) That's pretty sharp looking. I am digging the style. I see only one thing so far that I would change. Have you thought about redoing the sub frame section? If you are going to brace the frame (I thought I read that earlier) you might want to ditch those huge...

    Basket Case CB750

To remove the rust inside? If so, how did that work? I have heard mixed reviews on that technique but have never tried it myself. Eric

    1972 Yamaha DT 250 Enduro to Cafe/Bobber

Whats the idea? I was just going to buy sheet and roll my chambers. Your idea may be easier. Eric

CTENG, I look for the expansion chambers. Unfortunately I didn't find them. Sorry! if I find any in my travels I will let you know. I do have a 2-stroke project going on so I have been looking for parts. I will keep my eyes open for cheap or free ones. Eric

    1972 Yamaha DT 250 Enduro to Cafe/Bobber

Very cool! I am glad to see you have researched chambers. With your plan, the software and your education you should end up with a nice set of working chambers. I will dig through my pile and see if I have any chambers left from a 2-stroke project I have going on. They are yours if I still have...

    1972 Yamaha DT 250 Enduro to Cafe/Bobber

One of the keys to getting 2 strokes to run well is expansion chamber design. The chamber itself is an important piece of the engine. Chambers for one bike usually will not run very well on another. In fact, if you have a bike that has had engine work and are using tuned pipes, it usually won't...

    de-lurking from NJ

I am designing some rearsets for a couple of other bikes. Plus doing a set for my XS400. Wouldn't be very hard to add a set for your KZ. I would need you and your bike for a few hours to go over measurements and placement. Eric

    de-lurking from NJ

I used to be in Morristown. I am an hour south of you now (houses were too expensive up there). I am up for doing custom parts. I think you will find it worth the drive. A sample - RZ350 kickstand for a custom showbike: Eric

    de-lurking from NJ

Been lurking for awhile. Made a couple of posts and finally decided to de-lurk. Been into old school cafes for a long time. Been in bikes for even longer. I have a small shop that I make parts in (for sportbikes) during my spare time. I have finally gotten around to turning my attention to a...

    XS400 & XS650 kickstands

Checked on bikebandit but the part numbers are not the same. Doesn't really mean they aren't though... I know of parts that have different part numbers but can be swapped. I am not worried about the center stand, only the side stands. Thanks Eric

    XS400 & XS650 kickstands

Does anybody know if the XS400 & the XS650 kickstands are interchangeable? Sorry for this being my first post... I will have my project XS going soon and will document the progress here. Thanks Eric
