1973 cb500 build

Re: 1973 cb500 build by a 17 year old

the propane torch wasn't heating the outside of the hub up enough so i brought out the Oxy-Acetylene torch. Between that, bigger bolts, PB blaster, and hundreds of hammer blows i finally got it out.

Posting pictures is impossible. Errors are coming up on both my home computer and my laptop. I know the files aren't too big so the only problem would be upload speed and i cant help that.

Probably one of the best responses I have seen lately! They need a like button for things like this.

^ha......to be young and in love (and not need porn). I never knew that life! Lol.
I'm with Rich with about Dr.H doing work on your scoot. Syncing the carbs isnt hard if you have the tools and can read. Post more progression pics of your 500. I have one too, i love every nuance of the bike especially the shitty trans they are known for because i have to be ptetty active with my mind While riding it.

If you're 17, I can pretty much "old man" is appropriate for any of us.

As of right now uploading pictures is not working but i will try with some other computers later. I have been taking plenty of pictures so you will all see them eventually. I really miss my phone and tapatalk. It made posting my progress so simple and fast. I have heard that the 500 had trans issues but what are the actual problems that it causes?

Re: 1973 cb500 build by a 17 year old

^ if you do a quick search on it, you can find all the quirks. I believe it boils down to this: Honda matched the 360 tranny with the 500 engine. Faults include really really hard shifting into 1-n-2. Sometimes fallimg into false neutral in upper gears. My particular bike is all good when the oil is colder, bit when the oil is hot after a few solid minutes of riding, downshifting and finding neutral is difficult. Sometimes shifting lever is stuck in 2nd and I really have to stomp to get into 1st at a light. These problems are very similar to many other early 5's out there. Everything was fixed when they made the 550.

Im having trouble uploading pictures and i know the file sizes are small enough and my computer is only taking about 5 seconds to upload them. Is there something wrong with the server right now or is it just my problem?

I have seen many bikes with gaps between the seat and the tank. The problem i had was getting around the rubber tank holder

Mounting the seat. It will be held down by wing nuts for fast and easy removal
