using the bars upside-down rarely gives the correct riding position. thats the main argument with clubmans vs clipons. clipons offer a much greater ability to tweak your riding position so that you can ride for longer than 20 minutes (provided you have rearsets).
I was under the assumption that you were using the upsidedown bars in the final product
Just a little bit of progress, I picked up a tank at the swap meet last weekend, worked on it a bit over the week.
it still looks like crap, for whatever reason, it just will not look nice on the tank like it did on the side cover and the headlight.
and since I had to move them around, I figured I would take some pics of the fleet.

I like that colour, looks good. You may want to either try clip on bars with rear sets, with stock pegs, either clubmans or clip ons will bend you in ways no human should. That or higher bars like, euro bars, would work well with your bike.

well, got an exhaust, it's not really what I want, but the only economically feasible thing to purchase (still cost more than the bike did!!!)
and got it mounted
the bike is in my dining room right now, I plan on trimming down the wiring harness to only keep what i need, and I am working on getting an older ninja front end on it for good brakes and a little bit beefier forks, and the ninja swingarm and rear wheel with disk brake.
it should be able to stop well at least!!
also got the carbs on, and working on other stuff.....just took a break to type this
Wow, I actually worked on this thing quite a bit today, Carbs mounted, exhaust mounted, electric panel mounted, some wires run, and the coils mounted.... I am proud of myself.
After many months of not touching it....it's getting pretty close to running again!!

I dig modern forks/brakes on classic bikes, Just bitchen. What are your plans for a wheel combo...using a 3 spoke sportbike rear to go along with the SV front ? forgive me if you have already said in a previous post...I didnt look too far back sorry.

well, I have this nifty '86 Ninja swingarm that fits almost perfectly...then i could use the rear 3 spoke wheel from a ninja, and the disc, as it uses a 530 chain also. though the ninja wheel is a 16" split 3 spoke and the SV wheel is a 17" solid 3 spoke....it shouldnt look too bad.
I had the opportunity to buy the rear SV wheel also, but now sure how well it will work in the ninja swingarm, it's way bigger
i am working on procuring a ninja wheel and brake setup....going is slow with no job though!

I'm not workin right now either, feel your pain. Only way I've been getting anything done on mine is from selling/trading all my extra parts from past/present/future builds LOL.
I'm in the same boat wheel wise as well, I've been looking for a Katana 600/750 rear as anything wider than 4.5" wont go in my swingarm. I got access to four or five wheels, but they are all 5.5-6" wide...no worky for me.
