Re: 1979 CB650 Cafe Redo - update June 25, Something for ya Staffy
been awhile since I've uploaded anything online but in the spirit to motivate me to get this thing done I'll put up some pics, get some feedback, and your suggestions.
Finally have the wiring harness modified. Relocated the fuse box and ignition switch. I changed the switch from a honda 5 pin to a yamaha 3 pin. It fit's better in the new location. But took some figuring out how to do. I'll post a how-to later, it's a little involved.
getting the engine partially back, need to lap the valves and reassemble. Arg. No time. Well, onto the pics
Seat pan. This tab will fit under an opening in the frame and below the new tank mount. Just showing off my welding skills. lol
The head of the bolt was cut off, then the threaded end was welded to the bottom of the pan. Holes in the frame cross member line up with the bolts and everything is locked together. The pan sits on rubber strips.
The Cowl is held to the pan with socket head bolts. Every bolt visible will eventually be replaced by these. Part of the theme.
Alright. This is for Staffy. A while back he challenged me to use a ladle somewhere on the bike. I've been thinking about this for a while. Brandon and a few other gaves some good suggestions. But this is what I came up with
Sorry Bud, it's not a soup ladle but a stainless measuring cup
I'll cut the closed cell foam around the cup
That all I've got for now.
