lube tool works really well, contains 95% of the mess. just wrap a rag around it. and place other end of cable in a bucket to catch all the black crap that squirts out. I spray penetrant, work cable, more penetrant then chain & cable lube. they work like new.

I ordered one of those carbs saturday, and ordered that oiler just now.
I really like that turn signal build, can't wait to see how they work.

those signals had better work out great. The $ I spent on those got ridiculous...However about the same as the Harrison specialties signals I got on the 360. (not near as bright as these, but they have been on there 5 seasons & trouble free)
And I saw he has already raised his price per pair!

Last night got the harness cleaned...every single friggin connection of it!
That fancy "DeoxIT" spray, Bromz recommended better work out great!
Got Matts gauge LEDs installed.
Before work this morning got the Harness 90% installed. The headlight connections will wait til paint.
Argh! now Im behind schedule. ;D I didnt expect the 2K clear was gonna arrive for another week or so. I gotta get busy on tank, fenders and such.
Last night got the harness cleaned...every single friggin connection of it!

Most came out nice clean and pretty shiny. (first step red can D5, disolves corrosion,improves contact & protects.
(second step, blue can S5, seals, protects and lubricates)
Time will tell. and it cost me $15 bucks per small can. Ill get a pic of what they look like now. You know what they look like "before" kinda white and pwdery looking.
I cleaned every connector on the 360 w "contact cleaner spray" then dielectric grease. Never had an issue 4 seasons. (just dont get that stuff on plastic switch parts, they fall apart in your hands) But, since made my own and replaced the entire harness last winter.
here they are clean. Sorry it took a bit. I was just about to make the post when a guy stopped out at the end of the drive. Then pulled back in. A buddy from high school! I havent seen in 5 years. he saw my garage door up and stopped in for a few minutes on his way to work. nice guy.

I heard they got maybe 9 of them up there. down here in corn field county, we didn't get nothing.
Like I posted earlier, a scotch Brite pad, contact cleaner and dielectric grease is a little more labor. But cheaper also.

Keep your head down.....was stationed in Lawton Ok, saw a few, nothing serious.
Well that there in lies the problem.......the PO cut the freaking ends off all the wires coming out the headlight......guess the ef'er didn't realize you could pull them out attached.

Catching up, heres the short story.
I shoulda been working on this stuff first thing, after shutting off the key, 4 weeks ago...ugh. hate waiting for paint to dry.
Paint wiped off headlight w laquer thinner
Began spot putty over epoxy crack repairs.
Then alternating a bunch of primer and spot putty and sanding coats later.
I think I just sprayed last coat of primer, tank, covers, etc. Maybe ready for quick rub down in the morning and then first coat of color tomorrow eve after work.

got first coat of color sprayed on the patio this morning. About freaked out when big bug flew right past halfway through spraying the tank.
this cheap Valspar, Tractor and Implement paint from Farm and Fleet, has a pretty nice gloss to it. After about an hour.
Gonna give it a couple days to dry before re-coat. Then another 3 before clear.
Anybody know, how long too wait after spraying Spray Max Glamour High gloss Clear before wet sanding and recoat?
