I set it so the notch on the lobe was pointing towardes the stamped dot on one corner of the advancer plate.

Alright. I think I'm fine then, since I took it off while the engine was at the T mark, and after putting it back on the points are just starting to open around the F mark and are open at the T.trek97 said:sorry bud, I just double checked camera, no pic installed.
You really wont know until its installed. Because, it depends where the engine is at in its stroke, when you removed it. You can double check it, by pulling spark plug and watching piston/valves while turning engine.
Turn engine to TDC the points will OPEN on the compression stroke.
