72 Honda CB450 "lucky 13"

I got the fork seals from Dime city cycles (look at the top of the page for the ad ;D)

Speaking of Dime city.....just got the front brake handle. I also went to the insurance co. this morning and tomorrow I can pick up the new registration. I also stopped by the shop that's tuning the bike and asked if I could work on the front brake while it was there. They gave me the OK so if all goes well I can get the front brake working in time to drive it out of there when they are finished 8)

ha ha ha.....lots of questions lately. Not a problem though....I asked them to set the timing and attach the chain too so that will change the price somewhat. I have yet to find out what the total will be. I'm a little curious myself but they wont say until it's all finished probably.

i know our dyno guy told me 225 to tune the Tx500 on the dyn0 when i had my HD done with the race tuner after the motor build it was 485 for the tune... ouch but that is fuel injection for you

I ordered the fork seals already, but i don't have those dust cover looking things that you seem to have. Maybe im wrong but in the pic it looks like the top of the fork legs have a kind of bevelled seal cap??

I got down to the shop and mounted my new license plate, front brake lever and master cylinder. I still need to connect the line and bleed the brake. I believe I am still about a week away from getting the bike back.....maybe ill get the brake done but that's about all I can do for now :-\........Just getting anxious

here is a neat reservoir for the brake that the shop owner found kicking around. It mounts directly on top of the lever assembly via a snap ring and rubber seal. The white reservoir with its tube will be kicked loose and this new unit should clean things up.

Alright boys and girls, Got the bike back from the shop and went for a quick FIRST ride to my parents house around the corner. I had trouble getting the trailer that I borrowed earlier in the week so I thought....Screw it, Ill ride it. I still need to do a lot of small things but all in all I felt safe ridding two blocks at slow speed. One guy screamed nice bike out the window of his truck. I never heard it but my brother told me because he was following behind me in the car......ha ha ha (exhaust is a little loud)

Stand by for some video and final pics soon ;)

P.S. A quick thanks go's out to all that have helped me in this journey

man if you could find any more info out on that resivor i would TRUELY apprechate it!!! I have been trying new way to mount my master on the brat wing and just can not come up with anything clean! that would be pefect and i could powder it to match the bike!!!

Some time next week I will be back at the shop and I will ask for you.

The past two days have been very exciting. I got to ride the bike a little each day and tomorrow I am going to get an inspection sticker so wish me well. My friend Andrew took some more photos on top of a local parking garage last night so I am waiting for him to publish those. Although there is a lot of little things I am going to do over the winter I official call it done. But is it ever done :p.

Its first drink on its second ride:

Your bike has become the majoe inspiration for what i hope will be my own build, if i can get the bike i have been eyeing. Don't wory, I wont be copying yours. ;) but your bike truely is an inspiration.

I would truly be flattered if someone wanted to copy my bike. Feel free to steal anything you see. I'll usually take a little here and there from other bikes anyway!

well as i just had a front wheel bolt loosen and send me wrists first over the bars, i will make good on your request to
Remind You To Tighten Everything Up On This Thing Before You Ride It!!!!!
also it is perfect because you rode it a couple blocks and it has been started countless times so break out the torque wrench and check the head bolts, then all your grounds, then especially all your wheel bolts/spokes/chain adjusters ect along with steering locknut, triple tree bolts, and handlebar mounts.
also congratulations on the fast paced bad as build nearing "completion"
and i was only going 25mph on my moped when my front locked up and i am fine now (Basically)

Jesus that's scary stuff. Glad your ok and thanks for the remind.......glad someone was paying attention :D. Once this bad weather passes I am going to double check it all like you suggest. I did a little at first and every time I ride this thing the front wheel falling off kinda plays through my mind......hopefully that never happens!

we always do a double check when we finish a bike... ill go though it and check it all, and either my brohter or another fella in the shop will do the same... it is scary some times the stuff that one person will miss and another will catch... but we also have a (torque down) time... when we install a part that we know is going on, we torque to spec wiht some blue loc tite... it is just habit from HD's but we use blue on every nut and bolt!
