Dunlop K70 18/4.00 front and rear. I'd probably go a tad smaller on the front. Picked them up from motorcycle superstore for around $80 per tire. They have fast and free shipping.

Did you Chem dip those carb bodies, or media blast them? Good work so far!
Soda blasted them out in the yard. I was slightly amazed how easily they cleaned up.

Agreed. They came out great! I'm about to do mine with Chemdip... we'll see how that works.

Thanks for the info, I like the look of the big front tire but i bet handling suffers.

Thanks to all you recent lookers and your comments. Haven't had a ton of free time lately but I did get to work on the battery box last weekend.

The holes need to be cleaned up but it's looking pretty stout. Definitely not shedding any weight in the battery dept.

Thanks. As of right now, I plan to restore back to orange. It was pretty rough to begin with.

While we're on the subject of tanks. Does anyone know a good way to clean up a peeling Kreme coat. Looked inside today and its not good. The stuff is basically just rolling up like a taco.

Just one of the pieces I managed to pull out.

Muratic acid. POOL acid, same stuff. Just be damn careful with it. AND don't leave any of the aluminum parts on the tank when you do, there won't be anything left if you do.

just removed that shit from the 500's tank, used paint stripper for a couple of hours, then used acetone and a ton of screws, nuts, and bolts, came out clean.

I decided to plug the holes on the tank and fill it with paint remover. After letting it set for a day, all that crud turned to liquid and came out clean. Then I filled it with acetone and shook it until my elbows were jello. As of right now, I've sanded the outside to get it ready for primer. That's about it.
