Well even without the carbs it runs, neat trick right?

I've set a couple bikes on fire by using starting fluid for a test fire. A couple weeks ago, I found myself with my finger on fire!

not to mention that if you are not very careful and get it in the motor as a liquid spray

the funny knocking noise you hear is hydraulic lockup and it breaks the ring lands on the piston and can

smash the rings i never use it

Not starting fluid just one squirt of gas to see if all was right. I don't have that stuff on my shelf to avoid temptation.

weld it in it will look good and while you are at it make a under tray to hide the regulator and cdi or ignitec

i fixed mine a different way

i am liking how you are keeping the factory bump stop good plan

everything will fit in the space nicely

hey before you do much more seal off that fuel inlet on the carbs before they get dust dirt or shavings in them

are you going to raise the back of the tank to level it a bit more or leave it ?

here is some info about mine

this bike is a 1980 it has a bored out 650 in it 38mm mikuni carbs on custom intakes 80+rwhp

it will be running a ray san module and cbr coil on plug ignition

a 1983 gl650 front end gl650 rear swingarm and final drive that has been bored to take the cb900 custom axle and wheel and disc brake and dual piston rear caliper

i will be using a brembo rear master cylinder

it is a cb900 front wheel and rotors as well the front fork lower was machined to allow the speedo drive to fit beside the cb900 wheel

That's much better, that will look great.

Thanks, well I took my CAD to the shop and he wanted $350 to make it out of 16 gauge.
So I stopped by the metal store and got a 20# piece for $10 figuring I can cut and shape the pieces and have my welder put it together for way less than that.

if you have access to a metal brake you can bend at least half of the sides in one piece

then weld the rest it would save you some welding and make the part stronger

you could bend the sides over to 90 till the side starts to sweep up

Well I did get a package from DCC today, headlight and turn signals installed. It amazes me that all those wires and connectors fit inside the bucket but they did again.

Haha. I know what you mean!

Well I have been plugin away at this thing, seat parts cut and shaped ready for the welder on Monday.
I decided to do the front fender differently on this one. I cut out the center section just between the mounting holes and the brake line mount hole and had it welded back together. It will need some bondo before painting but it will look a little better than having just cut the ends off.
