Aussie 1982 CB750 DOHC - First Build

Yep. I have done the same thing. Just keep the tape (I used electrical) on and in a few days it will be right.

Yep the good ol' "Fark it I have better things to do right now" attitude.

Really digging the vapor blasting. Engine looks damn fine.

Thanks mate, really looking forward to picking the carbies up next week. I think they'll set it off!

I've only had a few things vapour blasted, but they came back awesome.

Get ready for shiny.

Nice work. Love the vapor blasted look. Don't forget to clean each and every hole and thread out to get the blast media out. Particularly the oilways. It only take one or two grains of abrasive to ruin a fresh crank.

Yeah I certainly will thanks teazer. That's probably this weekends job.

Had a self learn session on the lathe at work, had to take 0.5mm off the sleeve for the rear axle/wheel and managed get it done. Quite proud of myself. :)

Another night shift so another couple of hours playing in the workshop.

Milled down a flat edge in my upper triple for the dash mount, then drilled and tapped mount holes.

I love it when a plan comes together. I customised a shock mount I had and then made up the brace last night. Got my measurements spot on too.

Are.you going to be reinforcing that area some more? Might want to put some gusset plates in to help distribute the shocks force better.

Oh shit yeah, thinking of doing two running from the opposite side of the shock out at 45's in the same pipe I've used. Then doing small flat gussets in 3-4mm steel between the upper mount and the brace.

I thought you would be on to it. Just figured I better mention it for safety sake.

Cheers mate, yeah I don't want the R1 shock going through my balls so this is one area that will certainly be over engineered. :)
