BMW Police Brick "Clair" K75 just got featured on INAZUMA!! up for sale

Re: BMW Police Brick "Clair" 3-5-14 update NEw PICS

I think I need to lower the headlight a bit and remove the ammo can. My hands are silver from sanding the new gas tank so much so it should be done soon. At our studio we will be having an industrial upholstery machine dropped off and we will be taught how to use it so the seat will be getting done very soon.

Right side looks HOT! Left side the ammo box ruins it. Doesnt fit with your theme. You have a nice line going! Minimal yet a bit angry. I like the seat section , polished tank looks supreme. The rear fender is elegant and unique. The ammo box ruins all that excellent work.

Of course only my opinion! Now rip it all apart, detail it, final paint, tidy up the details, enter a show!

Re: BMW Police Brick "Clair" 3-23-14 UPDATE Polished Aluminum gas tank on!!

Will you please elaborate on how you modified the Brooks grip to fit the throttle? I found this from Australian builder: "The grips are formed by leather washers threaded on the spokes and clamped by the collars. As pushbikes don't have throttles we very carefully machined the alloy collars to fit over the twist grip. I made a wooden jig that held the leather washers and was lucky enough to find a hole saw of the correct size to drill the washers to fit."

Re: BMW Police Brick "Clair" 3-23-14 UPDATE Polished Aluminum gas tank on!!

okay,

I cut the clip on bar in half, I then put a pipe of the same size with a smaller inside diameter on the lathe and took it down pretty far and welded it inside of the cut clip on bar.
thankfully the throttle slide had enough meat to where we could put that on the lathe also and take it down and then put a middle pipe inside of it for rigidity. So now the throttle slide slips over the smaller diameter pipe that is welded on, it is ridgid and it has space in the middle so that the brooks grips will look right. Another thing to remember is that you need to grease the middle tube well so it slides smoothly.

sorry that it took so long to answer, just got a new computer, Ive made a few updates to the bike. pictures coming sooon!

THanks for asking

Re: BMW Police Brick "Clair" 3-23-14 UPDATE Polished Aluminum gas tank on!!

also I did not have to drill the leather washers, thats a pretty barbaric idea and would weaken the strength of those grips. Because they are only held together by 3 spokes you don't want them moving around a lot and you want to keep as much snug strength in them you can.

Re: BMW Police Brick "Clair" K75

Thank you.
Lathe, a priceless tool! sounds complex but the look of Brooks grips is worth the trouble. You are a very talented builder. Best of luck.

Re: BMW Police Brick "Clair" K75

Hey, I kinda liked the ammo box. Thought it added some unique detail. Just goes to show how subjective these things are.

Re: BMW Police Brick "Clair" K75

Thank you very much, ill have new pictures up this weekend, just made a new front fender. The ammo box is the best way I can come up with to give me or anyone who wishes to buy it some space for stuff. I like it for that. Ill take it off for the new pictures
