Bucky's '74 CB360 Hardtail Bobber Build~"Root Beer float"

Re: Bucky's '74 CB360 Hardtail Bobber Build

Usually ends up being three times the "bike value" when said and done.

I don't think we build these things to make money.

Either that, or I'm WAY off in the red on mine.

I fully agree with that statment...

Looks killer man. I LOVE a good chop. That said... A 21" front would look badass. Really set the bike off.

Re: Bucky's '74 CB360 Hardtail Bobber Build

I really like the look of a hard tail. I wouldnt own one. but they look bad ass parked in the lot.

Re: Bucky's '74 CB360 Hardtail Bobber Build

They aren't bad when built properly. Guys ride them all day every day with no real issues. The problems start when the geometry is off, or the bike isn't built to fit the rider properly. I get they're not for everyone, and that's cool. But, they aren't some horrible handling and riding death machines. At least not the good ones.

Well there goes all my incentive to build one...

Thank you!! I agree a 21" would look killer on there!! It would be nice if i could find a fully compatible wheel. Instead of having to have the wheel relaced!!

Btw, This will be my first hard-tail I have either owned or ridden!

Gotta love ebay. Scored a 5-3/4" chrome bates style headlight for $24.00, and Black coke bottle grips/throttle tube for $12.68.
Now I just need to score a set of cocktail shaker mufflers for cheap.

Re: Bucky's '74 CB360 Hardtail Bobber Build

Adjusted the valves, points and cleaned the oil slinger and screen ( which look like neither were ever cleaned in the 11,000 miles it has one it) the screen had so
Much gunk and shavings it was ripped and sucked back into the pick up. So now where do I find a oil filter screen? It is the rubber part that is ripped. I'm betting it is better to replace that part than put it back in ripped? This after I cleaned it.

Lucked out, found a oil filter screen and pick up on eBay for $9.00. It was used, but looked in perfect condition.

Re: Bucky's '74 CB360 Hardtail Bobber Build

Designed up a couple brackets. One for my new Bates headlight to mount to the stock lower fork tube clamps, and a Model A tail light/plate bracket

This is the other Tail light bracket, I was thinking. I think its cool, but prob isn't very period correct for the bike.
Which do you think would look better? Speed holes or TB?

Why are you using the Japanese symbol for Soup?

Re: Bucky's '74 CB360 Hardtail Bobber Build

Japanese for soup is スープ or 汁 depending on the context.

I will give you the fact, that it does look a bit kangi.. But it is actually a "TB"

BTW, here is huh? huh? huh?= えっ? えっ? えっ?

Re: Bucky's '74 CB360 Hardtail Bobber Build

LOL, I actually thought it was a T and something else, but on Big Bang Theory, they had joked about Penny's tattoo being the Japanese character for Soup, and your design struck me as a similar situation....

I googled it so i has to be correct.... Everything on the interwebs is correct... ;)
That makes sense now... BTW, big bang therory is a great show!

I don't think I want something in a design that will be easily confused or overly complaticated....I guess the TB is a goner!

Re: Bucky's '74 CB360 Hardtail Bobber Build

Need to get the "B" a little clearer, but otherwise, and interesting logo/initials

Re: Bucky's '74 CB360 Hardtail Bobber Build

No real progress lately.
Picked up a few parts, Risers, throttle cable housing, headlight and black coke bottle grips.
Put my order into the laser cutter for my plate bracket & headlight bracket (will mount to lower fork tube clamp bolts).

Next on my list is to keep an eye out for EMGO upswept cocktail shaker exhaust for a decent price. I wish had all the $$ to just go out and buy everything and get it together. But I'm still working on getting my title still. Damn DMV, don't they realize I'm impatient!
