CB350, homemade.

Close. It's the switch cover of my triple tree. That will cover the backside of the switch/LED holes, and also hug the gauges.

The gauges will be held on by a different piece, which I have yet to make. (Which will also hold them straight in line, and not at an angle to each other)

Is the dark patch at the top of the speedo normal? The other speedo I got (my dumb ass ordered a speedo with a trip meter, of which the reset stalk wouldn't fit through the top clamp) showed the same lighting behavior. Anything I can do to fix it? Maybe some LEDs inside?

Looking good! I'd give an LED bulb a try if it were me. When I get around to it that is what I'm putting in my gauges.

By the way, did you ever create a solid model of your frame? I'm in Pennsylvania for a few more weeks and I've been playing with the swingarm idea a little bit more but I need to have the back bone of the frame to reference for my pivot point and the width between the uprights for the seat rails. If you've got a model you would be willing to spare I'd sure appreciate it, if not no worries I'll make one when I get home.

Keep up the good work on the bike! It's definitely got me chewing the misses ear for funds to get mine started on the path to rehabilitation.

So far I've only got as far as the top backbone, as all I've needed so far was something to design the seat and tank off of. I might get to it at some point, but I'm incredibly busy with work, the build, and other life-y things. Maybe some day when it all slows down! (...right, like that'll ever happen)

I know what you mean, maybe one day..... ;) I think I told myself that 8 years ago when I tore everything down to weld up the frame... ???

i just odered a speedo from DCC, and mine did the same thing, i thought it was just mine

Yeah, both of mine came from DCC. Guess I'll find out why once I figure out how to tear it apart.

Not much to update, I got the forks taken apart and seals removed without TOO much damage. Next comes cleaning the parts up and brushing the aluminum lowers. I don't think the gauges are easily taken apart, there is a trim ring that holds the face onto the body. :( Don't really want to bang that up, so I may just leave it be. Work is still really busy so I haven't been able to get much work on the bike in.

Might have missed it but how did you make that upper triple tree? I want one

Designed and modeled it up in CAD, then sent it to a machine shop.
