CB350, homemade.

Not sure if that's legit, from everything I've read about other people's builds the 32mm is a little big for a stock CB350 though. I'm sure Von Yinzer or Crazy PJ or someone can chime in with experience about the 32s though.

I know Sonreir (man I should be on comissions right ;) ) has been getting others a good deal on the mikunis if you're looking for them. If they'll fit in the small space I'm personally going to hold out for a set of horizontal draft FCR 28's just to be different. (It's good to have 4 kids, sell #1 to pay for a single sided swingarm build/conversion and then sell #2 for some carbs, let see #3 can fund.....)

Ask, and ye shall receive. I went to Chicago for the weekend and have recently picked up another old hobby, so I haven't had much time lately. I do have some developments, however. I got my battery in yesterday, and today should get the supplies needed to finish the triple tree wiring.

Stopped at the truck stop on my way to Chicago and found these gems: glass 1 5/8" lens, plastic 1 1/8" lens, and then my homemade light bulb lenses, which I was happy with until I found these, but I'm glad I did! Going with the middle ones.

And how I want it to sit, but lower. Will need to redo tray.

Oh yeah, this too.

Gotta bit of interference with my clip ons. Since I got two piece models, the inside screws/bosses hit the bottom switch cover and gauges, so I'll need to find new one piece style clip ons.

WoAh!!! Just stumbled upon this and I am BLOWN AWAY with those gauges/triple setup.

Normally not a fan of 'modernizing' too much on an old bike... but you've got me sold. Keep up the good work! Can't wait to see how the tank and tail work out.

Are you upgrading the charging system with something like the Rick's setup? I've been thinking of running this battery on my project, but the concern was the charging system wouldn't be up to par and would shorten the lifespan of the battery.

It'd be nice to see this battery last a while considering its price!

Based on the wiring diagram, it looks like I can get the same effect or similar without having to buy a $225 piece.

Share the knowledge! I'd love to run this battery without having to buy that expensive piece from Ricks.

Well the headlight switch is laid such that when you turn on the lights, an extra two coils in the alternator turn on, right? So in theory, by taking the switch on those two wires out of the equation and just wiring them to run all the time, you should get the extra charging power, correct?

I guess my only question would then be, will it get a consistent charge and not charge the battery over 15V. I guess if the voltage is regulated correctly and you're not running some huge wattage headlight you'd be fine.

According to that pdf, that's exactly what their piece does. In fact, theirs claims to produce 25% more than that even.

1chrisb- keep us in the loop. I too was considering that solution from Rick's but hate to drop 225 on the damn stator on my '69 cl 350.

I seem to remember reading there is a yellow wire that you simply jumper to the other side of the head light switch and then all three poles of the stator will always run. Can't remember the link but I'm pretty sure I read it here on DTT.
