wow that was more description than I was expecting but I appreciate it. Hopefully I can get mine as good as yours in a few days

You need to finish stripping the carbs for cleaning

How much further pj? You're saying I need to take them entirely apart? Like down to completely bare carb bodies?

EDIT: went back and read through and realized I was unclear. I removed jets, diaphragms, separated the bodies, and removed/disassembled float bowls prior to dipping.

Re: It came in a box... First build 1974 CB360t

Thats what I had to do for my 750 carbs. there are very small holes that need to be cleaned out and its better to make sure all fuel flows freely now so you don't have any surprises later

Re: It came in a box... First build 1974 CB360t

If you've put them in ultrasonic with a soap/degreaser the felt washers on throttle shaft will dry out.
Also, primary main jet discharge tubes are still in bodies in the pics

Aw, hell. I might need to buy new washers then. :(

I couldn't get the main jet doohickeys out, I thought they were supposed to just fall out after removing the retaining screw, but even after pressing and fiddling and US cleaning I felt I couldn't remove them without damage. Any tricks?

Re: It came in a box... First build 1974 CB360t

Some should unscrew and the others might be able to be pulled out, if you're talking about the doohickies in the bottom

Awesome job! Glad i found this thread. I picked up two CB360 T's about three weeks ago for a buddy and I. If you're in the Auburn area we aren't far from each other. I'm in Opelika. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get quotes for powder coating. I started on my build a couple of days after I picked them up. I replied to this thread earlier from the Tapatalk app but I don't think it's working right. It says you nor my profile exist. Anyway, I cant wait to see how your 360 turns out.

I'll check it out, it was a place in Columbus. I have it written down in my project journal and I'm out if town. The Skinner Triumph shop at the Auburn end of Opelika had been super helpful in my experience. They've let me use their tools and they have all the little stuff you'll need like spark plugs, inner tubes, fuel filters/line, etc.

These are the pieces that need removing, came out of carbs done by a well known carb parts supplier (NOT Sudco) out of carbs that had been ultrasonic 'cleaned'
I have a 'one use' punch to remove them none screw in, CB350's get broken when people try to unscrew them

You can't buy new felt washers, you have to make them

Re: It came in a box... First build 1974 CB360t

Don't use a steel punch, it will damage the end of discharge tube.
I use aluminum rod, use drill bit to make an angled 'dimple' then turned down to the smaller diameter
You may get lucky and be able to use a chopstick to push them out

Re: It came in a box... First build 1974 CB360t

If you're sick of cleaning these carbs out I have a set of carbs PJ set up for me that I could part with

Ok thanks! I figured you were talking about Skinners. Good people!

If you need any engine parts or carb parts let me know, I have spares.

I swear, if I could just get some time to work on this thing... I feel like it's gonna take me forever. I'm trying to do it right (cleaning, polishing, painting everything, replacing anything that looks too worn) but I'm about to the point where I want to just slap it together as is.

Cool thanks I appreciate it. I know how you feel. Mine is nothing more than a frame and motor. I'm hoping to get it back on the road by spring but that might be a tall order though.

Got the engine together. Decided not to take the head off, from what I can see, there's almost no carbon buildup and compression is good.
The points plates were super rusted, but the ultrasonic parts cleaner worked wonders de-rusting. I bought new points.

Just need to get the rear hub together and the bike up on wheels and I can put the engine in and almost have something that looks like a bike

Here's my inspiration for what I want to do with the rear fender. It's perfect because I already have a spare front fender to play with.

Points plate is aftermarket, I think. The screws wouldn't fit under the points cover so I did a little dremel work

The questions marks on a few parts were a little disconcerting when I bought the bike.
