Forever ongoing CB400F project

The recent work looks great. Hope next summer gives us more riding days than last summer.

That thing is sex! How did you do the tank, its awesome?

I primered it, painted it black, Sand through the black with 400 wet/dry in the areas where i wanted the primer to show and then clear coated it. That tank is different now, I'll post pics soon.

OK, so the fork brace isn't completely finished but it was dry last night so I threw the front end together and went for a ride. I rebuilt the forks, made the fender bracket that's stiffer than the stock and installed the fork brace. My first impression from last nights ride is that the front end is a lot stiffer yielding a more confident cornering situation. it might just be in my head but I was leaning a little harder than be for so my chicken stripes should shrink by a bit on the rear tire after I really get it out there.

I doubt it's imagined. Adding a substantial (and it looks like your is) fork brace is one of the best value for buck improvements you can do. Completely transforms spongy front-ends into confidence-inspiring units.

Looking shit-hot my friend.

bike looks good! got anything else planned build wise or you just gonna ride the crap out of it? where'd you get your seat upholstered and how much was it? that's definitely high up on my list.

I have a spare engine that's completely apart that I'm going through that will end up in this bike when it's done.
I already have a new set of CR carbs, an oil cooler, cam from webcam and some other goodies. I'm using Wiseco double oil seal pistons to bring it up to 466cc. APE is going to balance my rotor and balance/lighten my crank. The exterior of the engine will be ceramic coated too.
When that engine is ready I'll strip the bike down and put it together piece by piece polishing, powder coating or painting every part. That's a ways off though, maybe a year.
Mac's did the seat upholstery and I made the seat pan. Mac's is expensive but worth it. They're in Ballard.

Beautiful bike, Rat.

Email me the location of whoever sold you that 400fourstore swingarm for 200$ so I can slap them.

Is that the stock triple or the one from Kevin's store as well?

Stock triple I shaved the bar clamps off
Couple of recent pics, better pics to come when the weather turns. I sanded the tank down to metal and clear coated it so it matches the seat hump.

As of a few months ago, he said he was. Best to call him and find out - he is busy and doesn't get around to returning emails much.

I custom ordered the header from somebody, it leaks and wasn't made how I requested so I'd prefer not to reveal the guy's name.
It wasn't motogpworks.
