Ok people,
So the bike is 99% finished now.
Managed to get her running after only a couple of kicks!
The electrics are all done. Only a couple of gremlins but all sorted now.
Had to reroute some of the cables about 20 times to find a look that was meet and tidy. Pics to follow.
I also move the R and R to under the seat pan as advised by you guys on here. Thanks for the tip.
Anyway let me know what you think. Thanks for all your great advise along the way. It's been an awesome process. Not sure I'll be building another bike soon. But if I can help anyone on here in the future I will. I have made all be it a very basic looking video. When I have more time I'll do one a bit more pro looking. And it's on you tube. I'll put the link in hear soon.
Thanks again guys.

Looks great. Got to love a one kick start. Is that "British racing green"? Love that color on the old Triumph autos.

OK so super excited to finish the bike...... so I thought.. that was until I booked it in for its MOT.
Road it down the road and the thing broke down on me. Battery was totally flat.
Pushed it home and after 10 mins of charging it fired back into life. After running for 10 minutes it died again due to battery totally discharging.
I hoping its just the battery is dead and won't hold a charge. Otherwise Im totally screwed.
Any thoughts people?

Read voltage across the battery terminals while its running, at about 5k RPM. Should be at about 13.5-14v. See Sonrier's charging system sticky in the electrical subforum for charging system testing.

I'm sure it's the charging system.
Old CB's don't even need a battery to run. (I don't know about starting, but once it's running it shouldn't need a battery)

New velocity stacks from DCC.
Great quality. Really makes the carbs stand out.

Fantastic looking Honda Andy, jolly well done old chap...how did I miss this build thread?? I'll read through properly later tonight.

What's the rusty thing in the last image?

Noticed the MotoBatt in early shots, how did that perform?

Did you get your MOT?

Hi Noriders,
The rusty thing is the standard tool kit. I plan to refurb it soon. It looks a little out of place.
I didn't make it to the MOT as the battery died on me. Don't get me started on that issue!!!!!
Yes the Motorbatt was OK but Ive upgraded to a small racing type now.

Ive just ordered some rear sets then Im nearly done.
;)

Ok so just as I thought I was on the home stretch the bike has decided to fight back.
Took the bike for a shake down ride to make sure everything was OK. Then the bike decided to cut out. Turned out to be a flat battery.
In the short run I did manage it was apparent that the riding position needed serious tweaking, the foot pegs are now to far forward for any lengthy rides to be comfortable. So back to the drawing board.
Purchased some rear sets but didn't fit as rear swinging arm was in the way of the mounting bolt. So removed the shock extension which sorted that issue, so fitted the rear sets only to find that the exhausts now won't fit. Not sure what my plan is now! Amy help greatly appreciated people.
