my ghetto ass winter redo 72' CL450

Re: my ghetto ass winter redo 73' CL450

I liked the size of the new wings better then the old style ones. It fit the tank better.

Re: my ghetto ass winter redo 73' CL450

I have the stock 13" shocks on there now, these progressive 14" are nice THANKS! i also found a 14.5 set in black. like i said before if another inch doesnt help the clearance then i guess ill be ovaling the pipes above the tire.
i like these wings much better too, my buddy keeps telling me they are too small, and i was thinking of putting dk where HM is on the graphic.

The XS is still good to go but I would like to upgrade the seat and tank and rims and pretty much everything. But yes we need a gang of riders. Drift Cars are to much cash. Barker is up here and Tim from TIP has a bike, Get Petty and we are halfway there. Bible is a gem!

Re: my ghetto ass winter redo 73' CL450

I have number 1 as for the shocks. or something very similar. Not in the pic but I love them. Got them from mikesxs.com

Re: my ghetto ass winter redo 73' CL450

barkers got a bike? word. wish mitch still rode. Nice xs, i had one but i never did anything with it :'(
PS: im rocking Maxxis tires on my bike, your brother should hook you up ;)

Re: my ghetto ass winter redo 73' CL450

i think i am giong to polish and powder mine to match #1 that looks tits!

Re: my ghetto ass winter redo 73' CL450

I like no. 1 as well. Just beautiful!
JRK those things would be amazing on your ride as well.

Re: my ghetto ass winter redo 73' CL450

sorry folks the used ones were cheaper and had black powder coated springs so i bought them, hope the extra inch helps clear the exhaust

The wallet is a deciding factor in many a part selection, and rightfully so. No apologies needed 8)

1.5" taller and much stiffer so no rubbing issues anymore, now the bike just leans way too much, doesnt even stay running so i got myself a nos kickstand ( i had shortened mine because of old rearsets) also the chain rests on the swing arm when im not sitting on the bike, i hope it doesnt rub.
Everything looks great, now i just have to install the correct jets, get my seat back from the bodyshop and oh yeah heal up my torn left shoulder :'(
so im in no rush, gonna have some rehab to do before i can really ride.

Re: my ghetto ass winter redo 73' CL450

Looks really good. I like the shocks. They fit the bike well and 1.5" makes a huge difference! Look good. Bummer about the shoulder. What happened?

Re: my ghetto ass winter redo 73' CL450

if its not too much of a bother, post up a pic or two of the whole bike so we can get a good look at its stance. Really excited for your build to get done, its def one of my favorites on this site.

what angle would you like? once i get my seat back and kickstand, ill take some SLR pics, when im riding ill be doing a photo shoot in the navy ship yard near by.

Re: my ghetto ass winter redo 73' CL450

a nice flat profile pic would be cool, but no rush, just post em up when you get them. Im a visual learner so I love photos :)

Re: my ghetto ass winter redo 73' CL450

that looks great man! i like the longer shocks on there! DO YOUR REHAB! i used to do shoulder rehab and have some killer exercises for you after you get past the dumbell vert raises though... i have had work on both shoulder and one rotator cuff done and can tell you that rehab is the best worst thing in the world... the exercises are ok but the STRETCHING SUCKS!!!!!

Re: my ghetto ass winter redo 73' CL450

Get a kettle bell and use that to strengthen your shoulders it is supposed to be one of the best things for it and doesn't pull your shoulders away from your body and strain them ligaments.

Re: my ghetto ass winter redo 73' CL450

Seriously, dude, this is not something you want to fuck with on your own. I know Joe spends some time in the gym. Hell, I'm in there 10 hours a week myself. But asking for 'hab advice on a bike forum is dumb--especially your shoulder. Even if you hired a personal trainer, you have a good chance of generating a bunch of scar tissue that will have to be dug out later; not the nicest of surgeries.

For reference, I broke my hand last summer and 'habbed it with a professional. I still have weak grip strength in my hand, even after rehab AND spending hours in the gym. If you don't spend much time in the gym and don't really have a good understand of how the shoulder works, what feels right, what muscles are in there, etc, you're asking for a lot of trouble.

I probably spend 30-45 minutes a week just on my rotator cuffs. Good luck on your own. That said--if you really don't want my advice--research spri tubes and how to use them. Best of luck.

Re: my ghetto ass winter redo 73' CL450

well i dislocated this shoulder twice before and have done the rehab for it and it will never be 100% without the surgery but i dont have the money and this isnt as bad as the times before. i can move it on its own and its getting better within the days so im just asking jrk because i wouldnt mind trying different styles of rehab. Ive broken alot of bones, fractured, and sprained abunch of body parts and 95% of the time i go to the doctor there isnt anything they can do that im not already. if it was clicking or i couldnt move it or it wasnt getting better then i would go.
