I'm done guessing, I'm taking the head off to make sure that dang O-ring is in there.

yes it keeps the oil from seeping out externally,making a mes, but there is no way oil can suck in the combust chamber past the hard seal fire ring in the head gasket1sttimer said:That's comforting.
