Post a pic of your latest purchase

I am a member of this good little Facebook group for my province (BC). Once in a while a gem pops up and this one was WAY out in the sticks and was in a small barn. Parked next to a running Argo 6 wheeler.

Left the house at 7:00am, tried the first ferry on the Island. Full. Drove to the next ferry terminal. Literally last truck on the boat. Phew. Left a bunch of cars behind me at the terminal. Two massive pile up delays later. I got to the bike at about 5pm. Loaded it and strapped her down and threw in a handshake and started gingerly home hoping to catch the last ferry home at 10:45pm.

1200+ kms later, $150 in ferry, two $100 tanks of gas, I had this little gem in the garage. It fired up last night. Needs paint, decals and a few missing bits but I'm confident I can get collector (classic) plates for it without much fuss. So little rust on it, everything is bright.

Now starts the process of finding parts and what from the XS400 (way more common) fits or doesn't fit. Immediate props to barkingmad (member here) who runs the local parts salvage for saying "we have one of those" many times already.

Nice Get cosworth, Shamus on here built a cool little one of these and could be a resource with the what parts from the 400 fit or do not. I know I helped him out to get parts from the US MikeXS as he couldn't get the parts from the CND side of the business, they were always out of stock. I live close to Maine so he just bought the parts shipped to Maine, I went and grabbed them and re-posted from NB to Toronto. Saved him some money too as the cross border shipping quote was highway robbery.

Nice buy, Cos. I don't remember anything about this model.

What FB group are you referring to, I also live in BC?

Brian

Here ya go! Where in BC then? There is one for the Island as well that me and barkingmad moderate.

That xs360 is awesome, I had one in blue and wish I'd kept it! At the time I thought they were really common.. Haven't seen another locally since..

That's why I made the effort for the barn rescue. It's got a lot of common XS400 parts on it but is extremely rare in these parts. I have never seen one before.

Not mine but I helped in the process. FIL needed a second car and this one came up and we were first to see it. 2007 Passat 2.0T Petrol. I checked all the places that could indicate issues, found nothing to run away from, minor small rust on 2 of 4 fenders and one small chip on the hood, engine smooth, and man it moves. You can eat off the interior and all the service records with full synthetic oil there in the glove box. 184K KM (110K miles) got it for $5100. I think we did well. Time will tell. Best part is, I get to take a 2 hr ride on the bike with the Wife to go pick it up cause he has to work, once the title transfer is done etc. She then gets to race me back home driving it ;D (not really, she can't get another speeding ticket).

Nice get!

Thanks, he has been wanting one for a while but didn't need a second car until now, there were 4 within 2 hrs to look at and this one was the cleanest and best priced one both. Only missing thing is that it is an Auto and we both would have preferred the manual. It is manu-matic though so you can shift a bit if you want.

Couldn't let everyone else have all the buffalos. Picked this up last night. Needs some parts and some love but its a 72. Let me know if you have any of my missing bits for sale, carbs, throttle and cables, airbox, side covers, tail light, turn signals, headlight

Awesome! Wish I had some parts for yours but I'm looking for crap too, especially side covers.

You would think they were made from unicorn horn and washed with angel's tears the $$$ people want for them.

how do those bikes stop with that front drum? I always thought that was a lot of bike for that brake but ive never ridden one.

That front drum is a highly sought after racing part. Worth upwards of $500. It's a dual drum and has pads on both sides.
