Haha, I was going to ask Tori to do it. ;)

Hahaha A picture of that would be priceless.

Can't wait to see this thing on two wheels!

Mini update:
The wheel is trued and masked for paint (man, I hate masking wheels). Painting tonight over at Cafematty's house since his garage is decently warm compared to my sub 30 degree man cave.

In other news, the battery I've been waiting for since NOVEMBER 30TH has arrived. USPS sucks. They lost the first one but the seller is a good guy and sent me another one. Taking bets to see if it'll run the 360 without the electric start.

Sorry if you already answered this, but where did you get that battery?

Re: CB360: Spartan UPDATED: Paint, front end on

I have been doing a ton of research on those batteries. They will run your bike fine. The problem with them is the charging system on your bike was not built for that style of battery. I have not tested it out yet but from what i have learned the battery will last longer if charged within its operating limits and balance the charge between batteries. To do this you just need a circuit board that limits the max and min voltage as well as balances the charge to the batteries. Its called a BMS.
It gets even more complicated when you need it to run your starter, due to the amps that the starter draws.
They would work best for drag or total loss because then your basically running them like a R/C car and then charging it on the appropriate charger.

Re: CB360: Spartan UPDATED: Paint, front end on

I've seen mixed reports on them.. I wish I could run them on the Beemer... but there's no freaking way... that thing requires a small fusion reaction to turn the starter over..

I got them from a site called Workshop Publishing but he no longer sells them.

Re: CB360: Spartan UPDATED: Paint, front end on

Im going to build one for my 550 with the bms. It will require 8 batteries but will crank out a huge 120amps.

Re: CB360: Spartan UPDATED: Paint, front end on

Got the wheel and chain on! Also flipped the headlight brackets to lower it down. Sorry for the crappy pics, it was already dark outside and my garage lighting isn't the most flattering. Thoughts?

To do:
Powdercoat bars and headlight trim ring
Rebuild the carbs as soon as the jets come in.
Rebuild the caliper
Figure out my battery/electronics mount
License plate bracket
Install oil pump
All cabling
Controls
Finish rear set mount
Paint touchups

Re: CB360: Spartan UPDATED: We have a roller

The headlight position is a great improvement. Really does more justice to a bad ass bike.

Re: CB360: Spartan UPDATED: We have a roller

Thought so. Almost bought a near perfect one on ebay but of course some other a-holes found it and ran the bidding up. Great tanks. The shape is awesome.

Re: CB360: Spartan UPDATED: We have a roller

Hey, love your build, very non typical colors for a cafe, but really nice. Couple questions...where did you get a headlight/brackets like that? I'm trying to get a headlight with an inlaid gauge in it like that, and i'm having some trouble...did you just cut out the headlight, or did you buy one with the cutout/gauge?

You can get that style from Benjie's. There are also some vintage pieces that are similar that I've seen on eBay.

If you get the one from Benjie it will require some small mods to work for a 360. You'll need a headlight and trim ring from a 350 and you'll have to cut down the bracket because the distance between the top tree and bottom clamps is smaller on the 360.

Re: CB360: Spartan UPDATED: We have a roller

Thanks for the info, I'm actually trying to do it with a xs750, so i'll have to take a look at fitment issues if any.

Email Benjie. I believe he makes them for a variety of fork diameters.

Re: CB360: Spartan UPDATED: We have a roller

Man, I love the look of those headlight ears, and have told you a couple time that I would try to keep them, but I think your right, those risers look to high. I think that is due to not having the gauge and all mounted from the top clamp. I think for the best low streamline look, clip-ons will be your best bet. I still think you should paint what ever headlight ears you do use the green color as it makes the color flow from the headlight to the tank so cleanly. Looks great though, you are building a very clean little cafe for sure! Nice work!

Re: CB360: Spartan UPDATED: We have a roller

Ok, I bought stuff to make new headlight ears but I'm really digging the ones I have now. The clubmans have grown on me a bit and I think once they're shortened and flat black I'll dig it even more. So while I'd love to get rid of the bulk of the risers I'm not sure if I want to sacrifice the colored ears I have now. Here's some daylight photos. The light green on the front of the bucket is painter's tape so I don't nick the paint when I install the trim ring.
